Looks like Tsunoda got some revenge for getting kicked out of his seat. A very clumsy sort of maneuver at best. Can we take a page from the Hamilton fans and claim Max the real champion because of actions by the officials?

Now we see which team interprets the new rules best or is it cheats best?
Hamilton lives so rent free in you head it’s pathetic. Every other post from you has some mention of him in an irrelevant rant some how. I do believe you will be the first person I’ve ever blocked. I should’ve done it sooner, you are the biggest clown on here when it comes to racing. Not because you dislike Hamilton, but because you don’t know shit about racing.

congrats Lando. Can’t wait to see how things shake up next year with the new cars. I’ll be pulling for Cadillac along with Lewis, (fuck Ferrari) and both the McLaren boys. Also excited to see Hadjar next to Max. Driver of the year for sure goes to Max. What a come back.

I agree, boring race. At about lap 40 I shut my youtube feed off and turned my attention to other things as the outcome was just about pre-determined.

It was inevitable that Norris was going to get by Tsunoda. But I was surprised he got by that easily. I do think both drivers should have been penalized, not just Tsunoda. In the end it doesn't matter I don't think. LEC was almost 7 seconds back. A 5 second penalty probably wouldn't have mattered.

Congrats to the McLaren team on dual championships, and Max on winning the race.

Next season will be very interesting.

Yupee! Verstappen is no longer world champion! I'm breaking out the champagne. :champagne:
Phew! Finally! It was about time. :whew:

Way to go, Lando! :clap::bow:
It's so nice when the championship is won by someone likeable for a change.
I find it odd that anyone would be this emotionally invested in the season's results. But I digress.

I don't think most people(aside from the really "hardcore" fans of someone else) see Verstappen as unlikeable. He's very matter of fact, and has a bit of an ego. Shrug. He still seems like a smart human with a good sense of humor.

Hello; Have to agree on the outcome as it happened. Hard to know if having a 5 second penalty would have changed team strategies of Ferrari or McLaren. The point to me was the stewards did not enforce the rules in a consistent way again. We all knew Yuki was going to try to slow down Norris. It was a poorly executed attempt so he got a % second and deserved such. But am i wrong that the same scenario this very season resulted in the one run off the track having to give up a place or get a 5 second as well???

Hello; Guess you will not read this. I do enjoy poking fun at LH. Much the same reasons as when I began to dislike Michael Schumacher. Their antics on the track were below board. Much the same as i would do for Jeff Gordon if this were a NASCAR thread. I was disappointed when he showed up in the announcer's booth after he quit racing.

Goodbye to you. May you live long and prosper.

I find it odd that anyone would be this emotionally invested in the season's results.
I don't see why you'd find that odd. In order to be interested in a particular sport, one must be either financially or emotionally invested in it. And since I have no financial interest in F1, it follows that emotion is the only thing that keeps me vaguely interested in it. The same applies to any other sport, not just F1. We celebrate when our favourite basketball or football team wins, simply because we're emotionally involved with it. If you took out the emotion, then no one would be interested in watching a bunch of complete strangers playing a boring game for a load of money.

He's an arrogant, insufferable bully. I don't doubt he's really smart - you don't become a world champion if you aren't - but smartness and likeability don't always go hand in hand. In fact, at the highest levels of the professional hierarchy they usually don't (which is why I appreciate those rare occasions when they do).
Besides, my strong dislike for his father tends to rub off on him a bit, too.

I'm interested in F1, I am certainly not emotionally invested in it that I celebrate or breathe a sigh of relief when someone other than "the guy I don't like" wins the championship. Seems pretty immature. Does seem to be a European thing though. Some of them are borderline insane when it comes to F1 fandom. Shrug.

Hello; I thought it was over the top Antonelli got death threads after the next to last race. My favorite driver is Alonzo but he is not a contender anymore. So, i tend to pull for Max since the dustup over his first championship.
I wanted Max to pull off a comeback but was not upset when such did not happen.

I would have liked to see Verstappen clinch it just because the comeback story would be a good one. He didn't, and I went on with my day. :)

It's exactly as mature or immature as it is to idolize a baseball or basketball player, which is something Americans do a lot. Seeing how emotional American fans can get when their favourite teams win or lose, calling it a European thing seems strange to me. There's absolutely no difference between growing up with a poster of your favourite sportsman on the wall and celebrating when he wins, or celebrating when your least favourite one doesn't win. It's exactly the same thing.

Besides, I don't see why you're surprised to find me immature, considering we're on a Mustang forum. If I were mature, I would drive a small European hybrid city car, which would do fifty miles to the gallon, would cost peanuts to insure and maintain, and would be built to 21st century standards. Instead, I drive a badly built gas guzzler that bankrupts me - and love it.
Yes, I'm immature. I wouldn't be here if I weren't.

I am not sure why you linked this thread.

I don't mind if you disagree. There's no shame in being wrong:sunglasses:
Was supposed to be a link the his racing career on Wikipedia...weird.

My point was people posting on a Mustang forums thread are not the exact experts on who should be driving in F1...which has been made.

I don't do that either.

This discussion is about F1, not whataboutisms.

Hello; I get the elitism behind such a comment. From what i have read in the early F1 days it was pretty much a sport for the rich. I may be wrong but fans were a small part of the scene. Now the fans are catered to and i suspect a major source of funding. The teams have sponsors and sponsors need fans to see the stickers.

But if us lowlifes tend to spoil you F1 thread put the offenders on ignore. Such has been done to me because i dish on Hamilton I suppose.
