it was more than a wing, so I stand corrected, it was more than a simple trip of the rear downforce. Also, Max is the team leader, doing much better so it stands to reason that he would get the upgrade first.

Don't get me started on that debarkle McLaren did by swapping Lando and Oscar. it wasn't Oscars fault that Lando had a bad stop. I'm cheering for Lando but that was just... bad.

It was tit for tat. Lando was supposed to come in first. He agreed to stay out to allow Oscar to stay ahead of Charles. Oscar had the stop that Lando should have had. I think it was good sportsmanship and allowed McLaren to achieve two podium positions.

Hello; So we have both sides presented so far. Not sure there is another side. I guess he first thing is it is their team so they can screw with it any way they want.
The wheel nut thing was bad luck or a poor performance by the man with the lug gun. My take is Piastri wants a win any way they can come. Same as any other driver. I watched M. Schumaker (SP) win a GP at Indianapolis after his strongest competitors could not race due to faulty tires. He appeared to have no shame at all.
I used to follow the Tour De France. Thay have a "fair play" gentleman's agreement of sort. I recall when L. Armstrong went down while in the lead due to a camera strap. His close rival slowed the peloton down and allowed him to recover.

I think the McLarens had 2nd & 3rd either way and no better. Oscar followed orders and so has been a "team" player. I suspect he will be pissed if he loses the championship.

The truth behind a pit crew member’s pay, travel and working week

Hello; I have no idea if this report holds true information. I would have thought the F1 crews made good money. An average of somewhere in the 60K range does not sound like poor wages exactly, but a 70+ hour work week does.
I read and hear of the cost of F1 cars and replacement parts. Has seemed outrageous the last few decades. Something like a front wing may be $250K or more for example. How much do tires cost which they go thru like tissues in flu season? I wonder at the notion of low wages for someone working on a multimillion-dollar car.

But if there are 60 crew members that amounts to a big payroll even at 60K, so ???

60K and no other bills (all food, lodgings, airfare etc. paid for) that's quite a bit of spare money at the end of the month. generally you wouldn't get into F1 by accident so you're doing something you absolutely love. If I didn't have back issues I'd do that for 60K a year! although my wife might be less than impressed... or maybe not

Tsunoda's former boss thinks this is main issue for him at Red Bull
Hello; An interesting take. The take is Tsunoda is not putting in the time and effort to do better. I get it. knew the son of a friend who blew away others at his local high school in Football, baseball and basketball. Stills holds records for the high school. Got a full ride scholarship in baseball in college.
He walked away because he did not like the college coach's work requirements. Did not want to run miles in the mornings or some such. I also suspect he found he was not naturally better than the other guys anymore at the college level.

Too bad if the above link is correct. A guy gets handed the keys to the kingdom and does not do the work.

I think Tsunoda has reached his peak performance. The level he's currently at is all he can do. He's a good(ish) pilot, but not a great one, let alone a brilliant one. Good pilots do not win. Good pilots merely finish races without crashing. Only great pilots win races, and only brilliant pilots win championships. Tsunoda is neither. At least half of the current line-up of F1 pilots are better than him.
Frankly, I'm stunned that anyone in their right mind could ever imagine that replacing Perez with Tsunoda might be a good idea. What were they smoking?
In my opinion, Checo was exactly what that team needed - a great team player who helped his teammate win championships while earning his own share of points in the process. What more can you wish for?

True. Red Bull seems to be more about politics and personal vendettas than anything else. To be honest, I don't really mind, because I don't like them and wouldn't shed a tear if they went down. But I feel Checo didn't deserve this.

But in my defence, his performance (or rather lack thereof) was indeed utterly forgettable.

Surprised they didn’t reach out to you when they sacked Horner. You should obviously be running the Team and recruitment. And you say you’re not biased. Yaaaa. Let’s be honest here, Checo(nice guy) , but cost Redbull a Constructors championship with the lack of finish’s. That’s a fact. Despite his lack of finish’s Redbull signed him to an extended contract. What a shxtty thing for them to do. Lawson was terrible, not marginal needing a little time, simply terrible. He’s at the sub Team and doing better, but he’s still marginal at best. Now Tsunoda, he’s not performing either. It’s frick’n F1, not F2, not regional go karts, F1. They’re supposed to be the pinnacle of motor sports drivers. It is what it is, and make no mistake the other Teams, including you’re beloved Wolff would do the same. He’s the same guy that torpedoed Russell when he was going to get a win in front of Hamilton on his debut.
