I take back what I said. Verstappen is gonna win every race. That lead gap was ridiculous compared to Checo who has the same car.
Hello; Yeah, he likely could have made another pit stop and come out ahead.

“Personally, I feel very good. Physically, I feel good, the winter training worked.”
“We probably feel a little disappointment within the team. I haven't seen everyone, but I was really hoping we would be better this weekend than we were.”
“There are many areas in which we can improve. We are clearly further than we thought against the Red Bulls."

Toto Wolff’s verdict on Bahrain GP:

“We got the cooling level wrong today and that cost us. To manage the issue, we had to do a lot more lift and coast and you then lose performance with the tyres. It’s a vicious circle. We need to look at what we did wrong as we gave the drivers a car that was not competitive enough today. I’m keen to look at the data to make sure we don’t face similar changes in Saudi Arabia.”

“At the end of the day though, we have a brand-new car, and we are learning about it. We have seen the glimpses of performance here in Bahrain, but we couldn’t materialise that today. We will go away and make sure we build on our learning and come back stronger.”

Hello; Max can go to any open driver position if the team can afford him. The idea may be to nudge pay talks in his favor if he has to renew a contract. So, contract negotiations being my first guess.
I sometimes need to remind myself this is a team sport after all. There are more key players than only the drivers. The RB has some sort of "scandal" in the background. I do not follow this at all only have seen some headlines. I take "inappropriate" behavior accusations with a lot of skepticism. Been too many such high profile cases which proved to be false. I have seen the same sort of thing tried on people i know. Could be someone looking for a payout.

I do not think Max can make a 4th or 5th place car into a 1st place car. Best example lately may be Alonzo who seems to be able to ring the most out of the car he drives. My silly season idea is MB continues to be top ten mid pack most of this year. Then next year they finally get a dominate car.
Ferrari will continue to be Ferrari by finding ways to finish worse than needed.

If the RB team holds together it would be a mistake for max to move away. If the RB team is to lose key players then Max could do worse than MB.

After being stolen, reads like the car spent 25+ years in Japan before returning to England...I'm guessing Ferrari maintains a database of stolen cars, so someone turning a car in for service would be flagged. Who, where, how well cared for all these years???

Someone in the insurance industry is probably rummaging through archives. :computerrage: If the records had been digitized (correctly) :giggle:, that should make it easier to find the paperwork and lay claim.

Good to see it recovered. Whatever provenance the car had, I'd think it is better still now.

Max Verstappen and George Russell lead calls for major F1 car change due to health fears (msn.com)
Hello; I will speak from both sides of my mouth in this post. One side says the simple way to avoid the bottom of the cars hitting the road surface is for a rule requiring a minimum height. Sacrifice max downforce for a more comfortable ride. Go the way of the NFL in terms of roughing the passer and targeting.

On the other side F1 is (I thought) about being the fastest race car possible. To go faster the cars need ground effect aerodynamics. Tracks are not super smooth so there will be bumps at the best of them. We will not see F1 cars run at Sebring. I am old and watched NFL quarterbacks and receivers take vicious hits back in the day. Their first reaction after a hit was not to gesture to the refs for a penalty call. That is if they could get up. Even with new rules an NFL player likely ends a career with some sort of lasting physical price to pay from the hits. Let the F1 drivers who can earn much bigger paychecks take the hits so we have the best race cars possible.
