If I could have the body of the 13/14 on the chassis and drivetrain of the 19/20... match made in heaven. And you know what, I wouldn’t care what the interior has or doesn’t have.

I felt the late model s197s (got one myself) has been pretty sporty over the years and it comes down to preference but fast forward 7 years and I believe it’s a whole new ball game. Then again you take a 07 GT and fast forward to 14 GT and it’s night & day different too.

I'm with you there. There are things I do and don't like about both body styles, but the 2013 front end just says "Get the fuck out of my way or I'll eat your ass" better than the 2019.

I think a 13-14 GT with a 2018-19 A10 drivetrain would be freaking awesome. even though I own one I just cant seem to feel any love for the S550 styling

What did the '65 Cutlass next to you run? I'd take a convertible one of those any day.

I tend to like s197 front end more, but I preffer s550 rear.

As far as driver's qualities- my story is -

I rented v6 s197 convertible awhile ago for several days. It was first mustang I've ever driven. My impression was - hm... nice car actually. But I liked my bmw more with no doubts.

Years later I got rental s550, it was v6. I was so impressed with handling, interior design, brakes and all that I sold BMW I still owned and bought myself s550.

Same here. My 2018 GT (second S550) performs much better than the 2007 and 2010 GTs that I had, but I'd gladly trade the 2018 for either one if I could have one of them back.

I remember, but can't find, a post wherein I spoke of my first view of an S550 Mustang: I was startled at how much it evoked the 1956 300SL "Gullwing" coupe. I still get a little thrill at seeing S550 Mustangs overtaking me on the freeway (they inevitably do; pokey pony me). On that basis I'm more than a little proud of the image I imagine I'm projecting as I cruise or rush around at the wheel of this yellow Yellow YELLOW example of the automotive design art. I'd be differently proud if it looked a lot more S197-ish.

I have also said, and don't mind repeating, I'd purely admire the opportunity to choose a 2005-2009 envelope covering 2021 technology and metallurgy. The true beauty of economical, spare, just-enough decoration is mightily attractive to me. It would be wonderful to drive a car that has modern-power, modern-convenience, modern-handling and confidence-inspiration that is as smooth-looking and as light-weight, as that 2006 V6 convertible I still have a thing for:

Please tell me that’s you’re Yellow Stang with the “flick you” plates? That is legit!

First or all, the reason your 2017 feels slower is because it is slower. Should have bought a 2018 A10 if you wanted a faster car. Or do full a manifold swap, cat deletes, and tune on your 2017 at least.

I had a 2012 GT, 6 speed manual. Tune only, ran 12.5s @ 114mph. It was mainly set up for canyon carving, I had a very aggressive suspension setup and alignment. The only thing I didn't do to the suspension was a Watt's link, but I had everything else. Compared to my 2018 (I just have a Pedder's lowering spring/shock/strut kit) the steering was MUCH sharper, car was flatter in turns, less understeer. But of course on bumpy roads and bumpy turns my 2018 is much more planted and feels better. On a fairly smooth turn though my 2012 felt much much better.

In terms of straight line speed, there is really no comparison. My 2018 feels much faster from about 30mph and up. I ran an 11.9@119mph bone stock in OK air (+1500 DA). It is much more comfortable (a lot of that is just how modified the suspension was on my old car) and I love my Android Auto and cooled seats. Weirdly enough though, the interior build quality on my 2012 felt better. Also, my 2018 gets better gas mileage.

In terms of looks, that's all personal preference. I liked the way my old car looked, but again it had more visual modifications. Boss lower front fascia and street splitter, 302S grill, GT500 spoiler, GT500/Boss diffuser, very low on my H&R Super Sports, Laguna Seca wheels, etc. it was just a very aggressive looking car and had a really nice stance. Once I get a new grill on my 2018 and a more aggressive front splitter it will look a lot better.

That would be awesome. Whenever I see a lowered '11-'14 on nice wheels I think DAMN that's a good looking car and miss my old one

Ill say this seat of the pants vs actual results are really different things. Watch the video about the Veyron. The guy who did the top speed run in it talked about how it was smooth and easy driving at 250 mph. If we did or where able to do 250 mph in our cars we would probably feel like we where going to die.
