Hey everyone, I was hoping I could get some input on Forgestar wheels from anyone who have owned a pair or had experience with them. I found a set of cf5's (19x10.5, 19x11) with Michelin 305x35x19's that I plan on running on my 17' GT350. I don't know the offsets but they are coming off of a GT350 so I can assume there won't be any fitment issues.

I have not had any experience with this brand in the past and unsure of their quality. The price is nice for a wheel/tire combo and trying to determine if it is because the wheels are low quality.

Any input is welcomed, thanks in advance!

Hi Jeremy: Welcome to the forum! While I have a lowly 2019 GT vs GT350, see my avatar. Those are 19x10 +40 offset CF5 in silver. I use a 5mm spacer in front. I also just purchased a set of 11" +50 for the rear that need to be powder coated to match, then 305/35-19 PSS going on. I had the same style wheels on a Volvo S60. I love simple 5 spoke wheels.

I saved at least 6lbs per wheel vs stock PP1 wheels in 9 and 9.5 wide. I believe Forgestars are made in USA and have a good reputation. I did bend one on my S60, hit a rock at highway speeds, couldn't avoid it with traffic. Still held pressure fine. Most used wheels are sold at half or so retail cost so I wouldn't be concerned about the price. How much tread left on the tires? That may have a bigger impact on price. Make sure you post pic's if you purchase them!!!

Thanks for the info! great looking car BTW!

The tires are PSS's as well and were bought new with the wheels and have a reported 2k miles, I need to check tread wear and purchase date. The purchase price of the set would be very close to what a new set of PSS's in that size would cost.

I've had my set for about 4 years (19x11 square CF10's). The car sees mostly weekend drives and track days. The finish started spiderweb cracking on one of the wheels about two years in - maybe 2500 miles on them. I was very meticulous about maintaining them so I wasn't very happy about that. I reached out to Forgestar and they were mostly silent, but it was at the peak of COVID, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Fast forward a year and I started tracking the car quite a bit. I upgraded the stock pads to GLOC R12's and they absolutely trashed the finish. I went with GLOC to avoid this very issue, having read they aren't harsh on wheel finishes. So maybe I got a bad batch, I don't know. Finish issues aside, they have held up very well, and I am please with them from a performance stand point. If I were to buy a wheel in this price range again, I'd probably go with Apex first.

Agreed, that's weird. I have various different sets of wheels which see GLOC R12 dust and they're all fine w/ it. Washes right off with soap, water and sponge. (Project6gr, stock PP1, Apex, SVE).

They're made in China. Forgelines are made in USA but despite name similarity, that is completely different level of wheel quality (and price too).

Forgestar are $350 wheels - ie don't pay more. They are rotary-forged and decent enough. They are painted so can be stripped and powdercoated for a more durable finish if desired.

Not that you asked, but Apex makes some nice rims too. But there is something wrong with their paint or surface prep - it flakes off pretty bad when chipped.

Thanks for sharing your experience with them, I assume with most things it all comes down to the individual set you end up with and the different variables you throw at it considering they are not a high end wheel. Which honestly I'm totally okay with, I am used to paying less than 1k for sets of wheels i have had on previous cars so I am not looking to win any kind of show.

My main concern was whether they have had quality control issues with structual integrity considering I'd be buying them used and don't have the lifetime structural warranty they have.

Thanks for the Recommendation on Apex, I'm on the lookout for a used pair if I can find the right spec. Kind of just depends on what comes up first, I have until Spring to find something.

Understood. Everything anyone purchases, is based on their budget. Trust me if I could afford a 911, 488, NSX, then sure I'd have wheels that cost $1500 each, but I digress.

I have Forgestars cf5v's on my 2020 GT.
Been on close to a year and around 8k miles and look brand new.
19x9 and 19x10 and weighed around 21 pounds each on my bathroom scales.
Balanced up nicely with hardly any weights in the front and minimal in the rears.
No issues at all.
Paid $2k new.
