has anyone run into an issue where ford cant access the ECU after they install the Ford Performance Tune? My car is in the shop for an ecoboom (spun rod bearing) and they can’t access the ecu.

I couldn’t get my scanner to read either. No one else has had this issue?

My dealer asked me to flash it back to stock before having them do any work.

When I had my tune loaded, the download was unsuccessful and it erased everything to include my stock tune. The tech went on to the ford tech site that they use and reloaded a stock tune then the fp tune. So yeah, might need to reload stock map or try through PROCAL if you just need to read faults.

If the shop is using the actual, legit Ford IDS scan tool, there is NO NEED to go back to stock. All they have to do is manually ID the PCM when starting a new session...it literally takes 30 seconds to do lol

mine had the same issue, told me to go back to stock. I call bs, the tool should be able to read the code just fine, like the previous post said, just more work for them
