They can stuff it, I don't trust them so I shall be taking mine to XJK Jaguar specialist who are absolute top blokes, they can stamp the book.

Stopped using dealerships for servicing years ago (Porsche being exception) simply as most dealerships who sell run of the mill shopping carts have no idea how to service the more powerful unique models. My EVO was bad memories over 1l too much oill put in the engine.

So mine shall be going a specialist who I trust.

300 quid a service is a rip off, especially as the 1st one will be oil and filter change max. As Gibbo has said, I won't be going anywhere near my dealer unless it's for warranty work and even then I will be watching them like a hawk. Modurstang will be looking after mine.

You don't want to pay that, the 1st 3 years servicing is only ÂŁ590 and 5 year warranty is ÂŁ540

I will either be picking up the servicing pack for discounted services or going to an independent. GT101 is on the way to some family in Canvey Island so I could make a day of dropping down for a service and going to see them. Rather do that than pay ÂŁ300 per service lol

They called it a 5.0 Duratec! That tells you all you need to know about what they know. I have some faith in the Guildford dealer though from experience with existing cars and their interest and enthusiasm for the Mustang. No need to buy that plan though.

total rip off note the service intervals stated in that plan are 10k !!!!! I don't even let the oil burner in my ÂŁ800 Volvo do for more than 7k before changing the oil.

Asked. Twice. No details supplied other than to be told that the service plan can be bought at any point but the monthly payments will (obviously) rise the later you buy. Also asked about the extended warranty and was told it can be bought up til the end of the factory warranty which I realise flies in the face of others' information...

Doesn't change the fact that that's the service interval.

You may not trust Ford servicing and might be right but ultimately if you resell the vehicle anything other than Full Ford service history will affect residuals dramatically, especially on a car like the Mustang

Not in my experience....... My Previous Aston, and TVR's never had a single dealer stamp in the book......all were serviced by marque specialists, and it made no difference whatsoever when I came to sell..;)

I think this used to be the case, but I'd say the majority of people now appreciate there are plenty of independent garages around that are just as good as (a lot better than main dealers)

I would never pay more for a car because of where the stamp came from! I use the person I'm buying from as more of a guide to how well a cars been looked after!
