Peak does not mean max power. Peak gains, meaning the most horsepower gained compared to stock, was at 2900 rpm.
@ white15gt...You are correct. I deleted my post. Note to self "do not post to threads at 7a.m."

I think the revised graph is cause all of us were bitching at the power levels instead of focusing on the gains. My theory is they saw the posts and decided this was the best way to fix it outside of doing a new dyno. Just my best guess.
Probably, but in my opinion, they made it worse. Whereas the original graph they published showed a 70 hp gain @ 5900 rpm, from 160 hp to roughly 230 hp (a 44% gain). This latest graph shows a 15 hp gain in that same rpm range. That's fine. But it's VERY different than what the 15-17 tune claims, and even VERY different from the original 18-19 graph that was published. And again, I'm focusing on the high rpm gains, because that is what matters to me. For some, the gain at 2200 rpm may be more than sufficient to justify purchase. To each his own.

You still missed it. The peak gain was was 35HP. That does not mean that the gain of 35 was at peak HP (around 5500rpm), just that the max gain anywhere in the range was 35.
No I didn't. I'm focused on the gains above 5K. Look at the charts. Frankly the peak gain could be 0, but if they added 100 hp between 5-6K, that would be exciting to me. Adding 35 hp at 2900 rpm, and 15 hp at 6K is not interesting to me. Thanks.

Here is an excerpt from For's description of the 15-17 tune. I would like to see some evidence of bullet point four (100 hp gain at 6K) for the 18-19 tune. Simple as that.

I think the way to see all of the things we want to see is for Ford Perf to just publish the dang dyno results that they clearly have somewhere. I hate "average HP gain" language as it doesn't really tell me anything useful - is the gain linear through the range, or really peaky? It's like the engineers are saying something to mgmt, and mgmt is trying to repeat something they didn't quite understand to marketing, and nobody in marketing owns a car.

Show me a pre-tune graph under a post-tune graph on the same X & Y scale and I'm good. If those graphs aren't as exciting as the '15-'17 results, I'll be sad for about 5 minutes that Ford managed to not evolve the platform, but that doesn't change the fact that I own an '18. Just give me the dyno results, dammit! :)

OK, even the new "gains only" graph has problems - the "peaks" noted don't line up properly with the RPMs. Both peaks appear to be in line, even though the HP peaks at 2900 rpm and the TQ peaks at 2600, and neither really agrees with the scale on the axis. So... I couldn't stand it and went back to the data we had for stock and tuned dyno results and put it all in a table:

In the table, 2017S = 2017 Stock, 2017T = 2017 Tuned, etc. Since we don't have a 2018 tuned result yet, I just took the results from the Ford "peak gains" chart at the limited rpm's and added those gains to the stock dyno results linked previously. Plotting the HP & TQ results, it looks like the 2017 tune is pretty dang stout. I hope the 2018 tune does a better job than Ford is telling us.

FYI, I would ignore data at 2000rpm, and anything above 6000rpm. At least don't base any decisions on those ends of the curves.

^ the HP numbers for the tuned 2018 do not seem right, very low. There is NO way torque can be higher at 2500 through 3500 rpm for the 2018T compared to the 2017T and the horsepower be lower for the 2018T. It is impossible. Also, from 3500 to 5000 the horsepower numbers seem lower considering the torque numbers of the 2018T and 2017T. The delta in horsepower between the two graphs is higher than it should be considering the torque difference.

I agree, it looks squirrelly, I just plotted the numbers that were advertised by Ford and added the “gain” per their graphs. If the graphs aren’t located accurately on the rpm scale, all bets are off. I also haven’t verified the hp vs. tq according to the formula hp=(tq x rpm)/5252 to see if the numbers are even close to plausible. I’ll look st that in the next day or so when I can... on the road right now.

Whatever the gaines I think it's a slam dunk at $400 for people who want to retain their warranties. If that's not a priority I'd say the Cobb is a better choice. Not necessarily because it's faster now but because it can be faster in the future with a wider selection of mods and tunes.
For now with a warranty I'm happy to take what I can get.

I thought Cobb already has the ‘18 tune out... is 19 different?
This is what they told me:

'We currently do not have any 2019 Mustang Ecoboost support at this time. Our team of engineers are currently working hard at bringing support for the 2019 model at this time though. 2019 Mustang Ecoboost support is a key priority for us, but there is no solid ETA for that release at this moment. If you subscribe to our Facebook page or sign up for updates by email, we will announce it when the release date is near.'

Same thing they said for the 18. I can't see what the heck is different.

agree. i could buy that for the 18, but for the 19, i'd expect it to be the same. especially when you consider that ford performance put out one tune for both years.
