If you don't then put the stock box back on

Yes. Adam with Tune+ gets better dyno results with the stock airbox and a green drop in filter than any aftermarket intake. Does the tune come.with a new intake tube too ? I would use that and the stock box and you would have a great set up
Just change it out if you ever take it in for warranty work.

Bump up the price and also give you something you can see is my guess. Not really sure. The GT350 has the same box too.

Yeah, I guess I could install it and see how I like it and then switch back lol. Does anyone have the actual intake installed? I'm wondering if someone can tell me how noticeable the sound is?

It's barely noticble except when you have your foot in it. I like it. Very quiet on freeway yet aggressive when your hammering down

Did you have a local dealer in Dallas complete the install? If so, how much did they charge?

Not sure that means for sure the FP tune will tune best on the stock air box. I still feel there is a reason they are paired.

YES, you absolutely can use the stock air box with the FP tune.

I think people are confusing this with a MAF (Mass Air Flow) metered system. The intake isn't going to matter. If it had a MAF then yes, it absolutely could matter. When cars get the metered air for burning from a MAF, the sensor is typically located right after the air box. Any changes to the air box or sensor could definitely require a tune.

The US market EB uses a MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) setup to determine the metered air for burning. This sensor is after it is compressed by the turbo so you can measure the actual volume of air. So hopefully you see the intake doesn't matter at all. European market EBs use MAF so it's different for them.

I'm sure they put that air box on there because people expect it. All the kiddies that played fast and furious expect a CAI is one of the first upgrades to make more power and if it isn't there, it can't make power...

What's funny is they left the stock intake tube which has been found to be the most restrictive part of the stock intake system. Well that and the drop in filter.

There is a reason they are paired... only way to know for sure is to ask FP or better, perform a dyno with before and after.

Without that, you are not doing anything but reading from people who don't know for sure (although may have great educated opinions).

I'm still waiting for more numbers or opinions on the tune... crickets in that area. No more 0-60 runs?

Can this tune be removed like other third party tunes?
