Got home Saturday and to my surprise my axle upgraded arrived. Did a pre inspection and found a note taped to each axle. In part it says do not use the factory axle nut. Torque the included nut to 200lb/ft. I think the torque stated in some of the videos and early install instructions is much lower

It looks Like Kelly A is a swamy by predicting the lower torque values were out to lunch. A man ahead of his time.

I’m almost ready to torque my FP half shaft nuts. I’ve had them installed into the differential for a while now, but just recently assembled all the other suspension components. I’ll have to review the instructions as well to make sure I button things up correctly.

It appears those instructions were from Gforce directly

And there is more....I spoke to someone at Gforce today. Just wanted to confirm the torque and they said 200 lb.ft max with red loctite. The reason being they were getting alot of pulled threads or broken stub ends when serviced after the fact at Ford dealers who torque the nut to factory specification. He said the Ford spec over torques the nut (the extra quarter turn I suppose because their number is like 93 lb.ft before applying the extra quarter turn).

Finished up mine today and installed the drag pack to see how everything handles. cleaned the threads with brake and parts cleaner, used red loctite torqued them to 200 lb-ft per the instructions. Just did a 60 mile drive and now the car will go back up into the air and on stands for a post trip inspection shortly.

I was watching several videos on reputable places doing the install
The misinformation is crazy. One just zapped the nut on with an impact gun. No torque wrench. It's no wonder why they are stripping threads and busting end stubs. Others tighten up all the knuckle bolts that go through rubber bushings without loading the suspension

GForce is a great Company, with a huge backing by many Mustang Enthusiasts and extremely high quality products. I would follow their instructions and don’t yield to the other posts/vids you see where installing that axle nut is being done wrong.

IIRC too, the original axle nuts are not to be reused at all, as they were torque to yield. Once they’re torqued and then removed at any later point in time, that nut is pretty much garbage. Always best to install new axle nuts and use the Loctite as suggested.
