So I did end up getting that filter in after all at the $70 price.

Also, a second filter arrived at my house for some reason that I didn't order. Bank error in my favor? I'm going to give it a few days but if no one says anything, I can ship it to someone who wants it if you pay for the shipping.

Or keep as a spare. Rotate them out. everytime you change oil swap in a clean filter. then wash the dirty one and let it sit on the shelf and dry until the next oil change.

Not a bad idea but I figure I'll give someone a small present for cheap since I can manage to do that with just one filter if I need to since I have another car for my boring drives.
