For those who traded a vehicle you loved, for an S550, was it worth it?

I'm currently driving a lifted wrangler, with 37's, beadlocks, hyrdo assisted steering etc.. And while I love the fact that this thing can go where I want it, and I have a great time taking it to those places, I don't love that fact that it is impossibly slow, and rough as hell. I'm looking at trading it in for a 16+ GT the coming months, and im hoping to get some input from those who have gone from a vehicle they truly enjoyed, to a mustang, for whatever reason that may be. Regrets? 100% happy? lets hear it!

I did exactly what you are thinking of doing. 2013 Clayton Lifted two door Rubi on 35s, upgraded axle shafts, the works. Thing was a built beast. I too wanted something fast and was tired of the crawl scene. Well after three years of owning the car I wish I would have kept my Jeep. I was wrong in this particular decision.

Definitely worth it!!!
I traded up. I went from a brand new at the time 2013 GHIG Roush Stage 3 to a brand new 2019 Triple Black Roush Stage 3. I couldn't have been happier.
Car handles better and is a lot more responsive. I made the right choice, no question about it.

No regrets selling my Porsche Turbo S (one of the fastest cars) for a 2019 Mustang GT. Drive one and you will see the light..

I have to imagine the upkeep is lightyears different too. The higher end the car, the more it requires from your time and wallet.

Dumped (!!!) a GT 350 for my 19 GT PPL2. Zero regrets.

I like our ‘vert but don’t ask my wife..... we traded her 2014 RAM Laramie for the Mustang. It looks like next spring we will trade the Mustang in on another RAM. Happy Wife, Happy Life! We decided we only need one vehicle and the Mustang just does not fit that need.

Traded a 2018 4Runner TRD Off-road and everyone thought and still thinks I am absolutely crazy. But I love my ‘19 GT premium. To me it was worth it. To others not so much lol.

That is a nice looking 4Runner! If the mustang fits your needs and you love it, who cares what anyone else says/thinks?

Hard not to love the mustang, probably not the most rational trade but. The mustang sure brought joy back to driving.

I went from a Raptor 6.2L to a 2011 Shelby GT500 to a 03 Jeep Wrangler to a 09 Mini Cooper JCW in a year and a half. I didn't like money those years I guess. Nothing rational about any of it. Drove/modded the mini till this last May when my ordered GT PP1 came in. Gonna make this GT last me a good 10+ years.

Ha, sounds like me.. I went from a ‘14 Accord -> ‘17 Tacoma TRD -> ‘18 4Runner TRD -> ‘19 Mustang GT. I didn’t like money either... but I also told myself this GT I would have a long time.

Yes, This topic hits home really hard as I just sold my 2013 Shelby GT500, I loved that car, and I got a 2017 Roush RS3, which only has 2,000 miles on it.
The torque of the big 5.8 on the Shelby will be missed, but everything else, the S550 just does better.
I even went to an Auto this time. I was losing sleep over if I could really part with the GT500, but I made the right choice for me at least.
Biggest problem with the 13 GT500 was so much power, torque, and having bumpy roads. I could not get the power down until the road surface smoothed out. By then, an auto car of less power was already gone, but watch out on the big end. The Shelby's are fast, but I think I can get the RS3 faster with just a little bit of cost.
Oh, the Roush RS3 is Grabber Blue, my favorite color.

I had just the opposite experience....I traded in my 15' GT/PP for a Scat Pack Shaker 6 speed ....after driving the Challenger for a while I wanted my Mustang back...since my S550 was long gone.I had no choice but traded in the Scat Pack for a GT350....
