It sounds like a GB is in order! I would buy it for $245 -ish (shipped in the CONUS) and I don't care about the paint. Anyone have the clout to orchestrate it?

It's even cheaper than that elsewhere. Also I've seen the 1/4 window scoops for about $160. Fantastic prices and I'm hoping FoMoCo or American Muscle offer prepainted options at a low cost. That hood scoop in gloss black is all I need to complete my look
Where have u seen it cheaper then 299 can u please give me the link ?

Please - don't anyone order until we have determined if we can get a handful of guys together! Even if we can each save $20 or $30 it'd be worth it, no?

Count me in for a potential group buy. I wasn't planning on ordering these bits for at least a month or two anyway.

That hood scoop looks pretty similar to my MMD V-Series hood scoop. Not sure I would feel safe with just that tape holding it down especially with all the air that is gonna be getting caught at high speeds. I love the fit and finish of the MMD and the install is pretty straight forward.

^ ^ Please post a link. We need to consider all the options if a few of us are going to try a GB. Thanks!

I agree - it looks just as good.

So -- setting aside the matching paint question -- it looks like the MMD costs an additional $60 or $70...and is mounted by drilling & screwing. That is just an observation - not a critique.

Let's hear from the other fellows; whaddya think, guys? Are you uneasy about a tape-only mount? Are you willing to pay another 25% and drill a handful of holes in your hood?

There's nothing wrong with using tape to secure these parts. The FoMoCo scoop comes pre-painted satin black for around $300, the MMD comes pre-painted for $450 - that's a $150 price difference. Also, I think most people would prefer professional installation of a scoop that requires drilling, adding to the overall cost.

What makes these parts attractive is the price, and the ease of installation.

Well! I maintain that we need to see how many of us are committed, and perhaps we can save a few bucks!
