Hello fellow BULLITT owners. Has anyone experienced issues with their BULLITT firing up sort of weak and then stalling after start?

It happened to me last week for the first time and the car starts right back up, but I'm noticing her struggling to stay on sometimes after the initial start. I was wondering if anyone has posted something like this on the forum that I could investigate.

Any advice you could provide would be very much appreciated.

Thanks, concerned BULLITT owner...

Thanks... She's due for an oil change at the Ford dealership very soon, so I will have them check the battery while she's in for that basic maintenance. As far as I know this is still the original battery so it might be due for a replacement.

As mentioned above, possibly the battery and/or fuel pump. How many miles are on your Bullitt?

Bone stock or tuned for 93/E85?

She's bone stock and she just turned 25,000 miles.

If you’re on the original battery, it’s definitely time for a replacement. I’ve had three batteries in my Bullitt and I only have 8,800 miles on it. The factory one lasted about three years, then I replaced it. A year later, I replaced it again (utilizing the battery’s warranty).

Okay, I think we've narrowed down the culprit since the battery is at least 7 years old considering the car was manufactured in 2018. Any recommendations on a battery brand, or should I just stick with a FORD OEM battery?

I used a Duralast Gold from AutoZone for both of my replacements, as the factory one was not in stock at the time of purchase. I also leave mine on a trickle charge full time, because I don’t drive it often.

Thanks for the recommendation. I only drive mine in the summer and she sits in storage from November until May. I'll do some battery research and reach out to FORD to see how their OEM battery compares to a Duralast Gold replacement. Thank you!

Just go to your local auto parts store and pick up whatever battery they have that matches the oem specs. They all have about the same 3 year warranty so brand doesn’t matter much. That baby will fire right up after that

Battery replaced and no more weak starts, but now I have another minor issue that I'll throw up in a new post for the BULLITT community.
