Unfortunately drove by some construction and my front passenger tire caught a nail right on the sidewall. It can't be patched up.

Question is:
I'm looking to purchase an exact replacement tire. I spoke with a TireRack rep and he stated my current tires were discontinued and replaced with- https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...odel=Mustang Fastback&autoModClar=EcoBoost I4

What do you guys suggest? Should I just purchase 1 of these and call it a day (these specs look the exact same as my current ones). Or should I call around and see if my tires are available anywhere else?

Current tires: Continental ExtremeContact DW 255/40ZR19

Any feedback will help!

PS. I used one of my old 17in stock wheels instead of my spare. So the car doesn't look completely off :headbonk:

The Sport is the replacement and is better. Heck I'm about to get them all four corners on Fri, and I can't wait. I had the DW on my last car the cobra and loved them.

There was a thread on the Sport tires a while back
The sports look nice!!
I would replace all 4, but I just bought the tires in February

I'm leaning towards buying just 1 for now lol

Well If you buy just one, you can take some killer right hand turns!

Any competent shop isn't going to put 1 dissimilar tire (even the same size) on an axle like that, you're looking at at least two tires if any one is playing by the "rules" as they apply to that kind of thing. I'd keep looking around if you just got them in Feb there may still be inventory out there.

I'd probably go ahead and get the 2 new tires. Another option however is to look at ebay for 1 used tire, they seem to be on there for about $90.

I would find a used tire. I know of two 285/35-19 versions, but that's not what you need.

I have the new Conti Sport tires now, and I'm not as impressed as I expected to be as compared to the Conti DW tires I had before... being honest.

I have a pair of 285/35-19 DW's that I purchased in the spring if that helps you at all. They are brand new and not mounted ever.

Honesty is always appreciated. What don't you like about the tires? Are they comparable to the Michelin Super Sports?

Thanks for the offer! I purchased a used tire from Ebay. The compatibility thing on Ebay said the used tire wouldn't work but the specs/seller stated it would...:headbonk:

where were you last week

i ran over a sheared off piece of angle iron 2 weeks ago. went flat right away and i barely made it to the end of the bridge i was on. it did so much damage it to my tire it had to be replaced and that left me in the same boat as the OP. i don't have to funds to replace in pairs (was quoted over $1100cdn just for a pair of rears for the new DW with a wait time of 2 weeks) and i was resigned to running my winter tires for the remainder of the year before one of the shops i had tried called me back. they told me they found a guy in mideastern canada that was hoarding new discontinued DW's and he had the 285/35-19 i needed and thankfully i'm now back on the road again :)

There are probably a lot of people hoarding DW tires. They briefly went on sale for like half price all over the place and then... poof, were gone. I caught that wave when I got my DW tires, luckily.

Replace two of them at least. Sucks but you really don't want that mismatch.

I went with the DWS. Fantastic tires! Best tires I ever owned.

Funny how all of Continentals other tires get poor ratings though.
