So, a 285 is too wide for a 9.5" wide wheel?
No, not necessarily. I know the son-in-laws 07' GT500 has (from Ford) 18x9.5" wheels with 285/45ZR rear tires.
Other factors will play into it though, one being tire brands.
A couple of wheels l'm looking at upgrading to with 285's aren't available in a 19x10" width, only 19x9.5's.
But before l decide on the exact wheel/tire combo l want to go with l'll run it by Paul first (Paul's the man BTW).:D

I've been running Conti's DW summer tires on my 2011 for about 25,000 miles and definitely no squirm even with my occasional aggressive driving. Michelin's Super Sports are definitely the superior performing tire but for about $100 more each the DW's are still a very good option. I run mine at 36psi for the most part. 275/40/19 square on factory 19x9 Brembo wheels.

Driving in the rain is where the Conti DW really shines.

Wouldn't his suspension setup have a direct effect on how the tire handles the float of the car at highway speeds and sharp cornering/launching?
