I have not found this subject on the forum, forgive me if this has been discussed before. I have an Ecoboost with PP and in my grill I have a rubber flap that hangs down. You can push on it,so it feels like it should be tucked up parallel to the ground. I have looked at multiple Ecoboosts, and I have seen some with the flap up and some with flap down. This is NOT my Active Shutters. Those are behind this flap. Did Ford not install this flap correctly on my car? Need to know before I take it back to my dealer. The flap runs the entire width of the grill. It is a bug and water magnet and difficult to clean.

It should have been removed during the PDI.

It should not be removed, it's part of the shroud. Pull the radiator cover off, the one with the 8+ clips. Then start pulling it up. It should sit above the grill

Mine was the same

How does it stay up then? Are there clips for it up at the top?

Flap up!

Problem solved. Even though I popped the radiator cover off, it was not necessary. I just had to push the rubber flap back and up. There is a groove along the inside of the upper most row of the honeycomb grill. I had to work right to center, then left to center - sticking two fingers through the grill openings - to get it all up there. Someone did not do their job at the factory! Looks better now!

It can be fixed by u. Firmly push through the grill in and up on the flap. It will click in to hold at the top row inside of the honeycomb design.
