I wasn't sure what to call it but I remember seeing a flap at the mouth of the gas tank that folds out to catch drops of fuel instead of it running out onto the car. I've been using paper towels there but is there something aftermarket that I can install to do the same thing?

Thanks

An aftermarket part? Sounds like a good idea. This capless design makes it harder to not spill a few.

i just tilt the nozzle up as i remove it.. never had an issue
For me that doesn't work. The hinged door inside the mouth almost pushes the nozzle out and that withdrawal sometimes spills a drop before I even angle/move it. So I'd like to have something there that does exactly what a flap would do to catch it. I think Porsches have them or did in the past. But it doesn't seem like it would be that hard to make.

Anyone?

There are so many aftermarket parts for this car that it boggles the mind. Is this one area that there's just not??

Thanks

It also says to wait 10 seconds before pulling the nozzle away on the gas cover. I've done that and never had it drip on my paint. I've just taken a paper towel if any got around the capless area if there was a drop or two.

OP, just try waiting a bit after it clicks, then tilting it up a little as you remove it. That's really the best way to approach this.

I just filled my 17 and it has a very small drain hole below filler that the drips run to.

I just yank the nozzle out very quickly and watch the drops hit the ground...

I just grab a paper towel and fold it to catch the drops and toss it.
