Took my GT to the track Friday night, with the race wheel setup. Running Hoosier slicks. Best I could muster was a 13.2 because every time I launched I bogged. 60 foots were between 2.2 and 2.5. For some reason I think when I launch it hits so hard my foot is inadvertently coming off the pedal... By them it's too late and the car bogs down. So my 2 questions are first what are most of you launching at using slicks, and have any of you experiences what I am calling new to slicks anxiety.

Mods are Lund flex tuned, PMAS intake, full exhaust with cats. Steeda stop the hop kit, UPR vert links. And race star wheels with Hoosier slicks and skinnies.

Also any of you running the MSD 2 step? I'm thinking if I can just keep my foot floored on the gas I would be les likely to lift my foot off the pedal when it launches.

I've run slicks for years and never experienced my foot coming off the throttle with a hard launch. Maybe move your seat a little closer? Did you turn advance track off completely or just traction control? If you only turned off traction control and your car moves side to side at all it will limit power.

Everything is off. Im convinced it's something I'm doing wrong... like walking and chewing gum at the same time. I wish there was a way to hack the factory launch control so you could just mash the pedal to the floor and hold 5500-6k without having any of the nannies on.

Sounds like you just need to get back out there and try again then!! Get yourself the msd2 step or wot box. Then you can just set the rpm floor it and dump the clutch like you said lol .

This happened to me the first time out at the 8th. I had to move my seat closer.

Were the tires at 13PSI hot or cold? You could try increasing the pressure a bit. I always slide my seat up and bring the back more straight up so I can jump the gears. I have similar mods and I launch between 5500 and 6000. Practice a bit more and you will get it. I did really bad my first time at the track on drag radials and slicks.

Will the factory axles handle slicks with 5000 rpm launch?

Increasing psi would be a horrible idea. 10-11 is usually the sweet spot. Also increasing psi isnt going to stop bogging. Itll just aid in spinning his balls off.

I've launched quite a few times on slicks with stock axles usually around 5500-6k I'm still on stock axles running low 10.4s can't say how long they will last but they are still together
