So I just purchased an nGauge from AM and it came with a free tune from Lund. I chose the 91/93 octane tune since that was the most accessible fuel for me around my area and it is all I have been using on my car since the first day I bought it. I have a few questions regarding the effects on the tune I had received and whether or not it is doing what is expected without any modifications.

Q1: Some times on low throttle at around 3500-4000 rpm the car will shift violently, like you can feel the vehicle trying to switch gears and it will lurch the car forward then back once it gets set. Is this normal, or should I get the Lund representative involved to help fix that issue?

Q2: Am I able to get revisions through this 91/93 octane by datalogging and sending in the logs to the representative? (his name is Dakota btw)

Any help or suggestions is appreciated. Also, I have no "major" modifications that would need a specific tune for, only a Corsa Xtreme cat-back exhaust, GT Premium screen upgrade, and soon to be 18-19 LCD instrument cluster.

Yes, you need to datalog and attach it to the open ticket you have with the tune from their support site. You get 90 days of support from the initial purchase of the tune for revisions and updates. After that, it's $50 for another revision for 90 days.

is it just shifting harder than stock? that's normal. Lund can probably back it off some if you ask

I just have some lower back issues from warehouse jobs I did a few years ago. The shifting didn't feel normal to me and also aggravated my back.

Mine shifts pretty hard at low RPMs with the lund tune. I understand this normal and puts less wear on the clutches but it can be pretty harsh at time. I actually manual shift with the paddles sooner so it shifts smoother.

Lund usually sets up D as drag mode. They can (should) change it how you want. My tuner set up D drive to run pretty much stock tip in and normal softer shifts at less than wot throttle. My S sport is my drag mode which pops hard into every gear when in auto. Most tuners jack up the tip which I hate touchy throttles. Fyi.

Interesting. Thanks for that info.

I need to look into because it's kinda annoying sometimes.
I don't understand why they wouldn't put the drag mode in the Sport setting as the default location.

Yeah if my Drive was that way (tune) I would not be happy camper. That would force you to paddle shift all the time to keep it tame. No thanks. I rarely even use the paddles.
