I caved and took mine to Ford for the 10,000 mile service. £224 so must be Surrey prices.

It did however include another year with the AA including European cover and home start.

That must be worth over £100 on its own.

Had my first service today at Hendy Eastleigh; the service was fine, and they fitted a new fog map for £102 to replace the one with a stone through it.

But I was "somewhat disappointed" at their attitude to replacing the battery. You may recall back in early Dec it went completely flat, and the local Hendy Fareham branch did a test that reported "replace battery" - and I made this clear to Eastleigh when I booked it in.

They did nothing. I guess my fault as I should have double checked yesterday afternoon that they had the battery in; silly me for just saying "I have brought it in this afternoon so you can replace the battery and leave it on charge overnight".

The service manager wasn't much help. He did confirm that any Ford dealercan service the RS & Mustangs (which is the exact opposite to what I was told when I rang them to get the battery checked and again when I rang them to book it in for the service).

He said the battery test printout from Fareham was only valid for a warranty claim for 24 hours, so Eastleigh would need it back if for a day to do a full "battery test" and only if that one showed "replace battery" could they then start the warranty process.

I guess Hendy Eastleigh, Hendy Fareham & Ford UK Warranty are three separate organisations who just don't work together to help their customers; they seem to be designed to find reasons not to do warranty work.

I am not sure buying the extended warranty & service packages were a good idea now...

On another topic they did have a V8 fastback, option pack in race red for sale at £33,250 on a plinth outside.

And a very nice TY EB convertible on display inside.

Deep South, how have you found Hendy Eastleigh? I ordered mine through them, and am due to pick up 01 Apr.... Since ordering back in June they have never contacted me, I even had to go in to 'check ' the order only to find they had ordered the wrong colour, luckily I got it changed before it would have caused a delay.... So far a long way from impressed. They have lots to learn on customer care.

I found Suzie on the sales side helpful but she never proactively contacted me. The handover was good and the free oil change was fine. The service was efficient and they cleaned the car well. But my battery issue was very poor from the customer side. Having been clearly told that only a Ford store with trained Mustang technicians can service it and now being told the opposite does make you wonder.

I know they are used to dealing with volumes but the whole point of the Ford Store was to offer a premium service. It looks to me to just a way to sell an expensive paint job on a fully optioned model and the sporty RS and Mustang isn't important - from a service point of view.
