Yep, as many others have said, new exhaust.

My first purchases were wheels and stripes, but it's sound from the catback exhaust that puts the biggest smile on my face

Mine is arriving at a similar time. First mod is the sto n show at the dealer followed by the gear knob and oil catch tank as soon as it gets home.
I plan on doing panel filter, stainless works retro catback and custom headers with tune at some point when funds allow so I figure I will leave the exhaust stock for now but just cut the resonator out and put a cheap H pipe in place. Maybe open the back boxes and core them out to get some noise.

Omg, some great ideas including stuff I hadn't thought about - thanks all. This has the danger of getting expensive...But in priority order, think I'm looking at:

1 - exhaust. I kind of knew this after a recent show where I was in the ring in my '65 and the guy held the mic to my exhaust while I used the loud peddle, lots of cheering and sounded ace on loudspeakers....but when he did the same on the stock 5.0 behind me, only a mere whimper was emitted!!!!
2 - exterior LED bulbs
3 - like the idea if DRLs, but don't know enough about these yet so need to look into costs/types and effort/risk of install
4 - maybe a CAI or panel filter, which should work well with the exhaust.

Don't know if I need a clutch spring, does this just make it lighter to operate?
Like the idea if red-tinted rear lights, need to look into how this is done.
MPSS tyres - I'll see how I get on with standard ones first
Gt350 interior wheel/knob, not something I'd considered but worth a look!

All LED's are pretty easy and non expensive check out Manders Mustang thread or look at the stickies at top of forum. Really freshen up the look and gets rid of nasty yellow bulbs.

Steeda clutch spring is a must and a very cheap mod. Helps feel/gear change 1st-2nd.

Tyres not bad for Summer, most will change when there out to MPSS.

The GT350 wheel is really nice, I have it and pretty easy to change over.

The side repeaters that you can get from DD also freshen up the look.

But as mentioned priority no 1 has to be exhaust IMO.

Definitely look into a short shifter. The stock is awful, can't wait to install my MGW.

Exhaust is the first and a must, I can't get enough of my Corsa Xtreme haha. Hoping to tackle the GT350 wheel this weekend, should be a nice upgrade.

Personally I don't think I will install the Steeda clutch spring, but I will do a clutch extender as I'm a shortass, and it's tough to get into a good position.

Rear suspension needs some work, moves around a lot under acceleration, I will do the BMR CB005 Cradle Lockout Kit and see how I go.

For the price the Roush axle backs are amazing. For any price they are amazing, being one of the cheapest solutions is just a huge bonus :)

Taken this morning:

Leeroy here's the LED list, for interior/exterior includes DRLs, Sidelights, Reversing Lights as the exteriors, and Map light, vanity mirror lights, glove box light, trunk/boot light as the interior lights.

Ok, so I'm getting a bit excited now as eta for my 5.0 is September:headbang:

Because its a mustang and impossible to leave stock:), thinking of the must have first mods so I can get some bits ordered and delivered in secret to my house to fit before the wife notices:ninja:

So, what should I be doing first off? Seen lots on lighting, but not really sure what the issue is with standard as don't have it yet! Thinking of roush axle back, maybe an airaid CAI (or decent panel filter), maybe a tyre swap to MPSS (seems to be favourite). Don't know if I need anything for the interior, not sure about suspension mods or wheel spacers etc.
Depends on your goals.
Drag racing, road racing, daily driver?
The car has plenty of power. If you don't have the PP, I'd say start with suspension and better tires, with maybe an axleback like Roush or GT500's. Research axlebacks thoroughly as many are rasp, drone and are too loud.

Manders - no worries, thanks for the link

15GTBEN - it'll be a daily driver and because of this I've swerved away from cat backs and focused on axle backs as don't want it to be too loud, and particularly no droning inside! From what others have said and what I've heard on sound clips, Roush seems favourite:clap2:

I'd be shooting for a Roush AB if I had a GT. I'm running a cat-back on the Ecobeast, 0 drone whatsoever, at like 70mph 6th gear it's silent in the cabin.... 4k RPM + loudest mofo on the streets
