Ok, so I'm getting a bit excited now as eta for my 5.0 is September:headbang:

Because its a mustang and impossible to leave stock:), thinking of the must have first mods so I can get some bits ordered and delivered in secret to my house to fit before the wife notices:ninja:

So, what should I be doing first off? Seen lots on lighting, but not really sure what the issue is with standard as don't have it yet! Thinking of roush axle back, maybe an airaid CAI (or decent panel filter), maybe a tyre swap to MPSS (seems to be favourite). Don't know if I need anything for the interior, not sure about suspension mods or wheel spacers etc.

Well I'm all about the look and feel (and sound) so exhaust, suspension and spacers. Blacked-out emblems. inside the GT350/R steering wheel and a shifter knob are great as you touch those all the time.
Changing your bulbs to LEDs is a relatively cheap and effective mod and your wife won't notice them. Gets rid of the yellowy stock bulbs
My two cents...

Red tail lights :headbang: what spec did you order? I would imagine tyres may be a good investment bearing in mind the time of year, depends on your usage though.

Any photos of the '65? Will you be keeping it?

exhaust first imo, give it that awesome V8 sound it deserves.

Lighting as already pointed out is a good subtle change.

Roush axle backs...

I had mine waiting in the garage when it arrived, but decided to drive it around for a couple of weeks on the std. exhaust to get a 'feel of it'.

Stupid decision.

Roush axle-backs are bloody amazing. Get a set and get them on the day you pick it up :)

To echo most,

Cat Back Exhaust to release the animal within is an absolute must!

(I have the SOLO Mach XV and it sounds incredible)

Then you need to decide aesthetics or performance or both at the same time!

Get ready to start spending some ÂŁÂŁÂŁ but it will be worth it.

Enjoy

first cash should obviously be invested in a fake address to have your parts delivered to, a self storage container to store them, then set up a separate bank account for ordering stuff. Make up some new tax expense or something and siphon money out of the joint account to fill it up and then by September you're good to go

Exhaust - your choice.

LED drls - Always.

Tinting Rear Lights if you don'tlike them, Red, Black (different levels of 'smoking')

They're the only two i'd put up as 'musts'

My mods in order of priority:

Priority 1: Exhaust, Rear Light Tinting & LED DRLs
Priority 2: Interior Piping
Priority 3: LED sidelights, Interior Lights, Reversing lights etc
Priority 4: Painting Engine cover/Fuse box/Other Engine bay aesthetics

My favorite mod is cheap, easy, and inconspicuous. Install the Steeda clutch assist spring. It makes an IMMEDIATE difference in the driveability of the car, and makes the clutch so, so much better. $10.

I will echo most people on here about the exhaust - standard is not loud enough and the Roush axleback is very good.

For what its worth, I've done the following - @ Modurstang ( Mike's my new best friend)
Underseal
Roush exhaust
Springs
Spacers
Camber bolts
DRL and sidelight bulb change
Sidemarker lights
Clutch pedal spring
Sound tube removal
