Why do you assume people can only drive fast on a street - which is the dumbest thing to do and has nothing to do with having any skill ?
What's gonna hurt getting some pulls to 60 and let off? No one tells you to go triple digits unless you think that's all street racing like.

There's the right time and place for everything.

I enjoy going to the race track every two months, it's expensive but I don't have to look over my shoulder worried about the police.
Absolutely, although there is still nothing wrong having a little bit fun on the street.

My son has driven my car, and recently drove a Hellcat. His observation was that as special as the GT350 is when cornering, the Hellcat is at acceleration.

This car is so fast, you can get in a lot of trouble in no time at all. I would suggest a race track, deserted freeway, or deserted twisty windy road.
My three favorite places

So if you were at the drag strip against this Hellcat and you raced for a 1/4 mile, who would win? Maybe that's why he's reving his motor at you at a red light. I don't think he is trying to race you around the block or through a road course.

The law or rather, the police classify this as excessive acceleration or reckless driving. Take your pick!! You can pay to play on the track and keep your license or pay to play on the street and get thrown in jail

Not all the time bud. Hellcat has the hp advantage and given all that fat ass 4500lb weight, it has grip too!
But when you have a an average non driving ass on the seat of a 6 speed hellcat, I think it's fair game on a stop light to stop light race.

Hellcats are huge bitches, once ford and Chevy bring competition for it, it will be last place again like it was in 2008-2013.

I was speaking outside of driver error. You can easily flip the script, and the gt350 would eat its lunch on a road course..

The Camaro SS already runs 12.2 in the quarter stock. Add some drag radials and you are at 11.8. Throw in the road course times, the Camaro is the complete package

I'd rather have a 350/R ANY day, even if it is slower in a straight line. Dodge wore the piss out of that chassis.

I will have a 2018/19 GT500 in the garage too, and from what I'm hearing, it will "destroy hellcats and ZL1's", not that my current GT500 wouldn't do it, but I like progress, to a point. Sounds like Ford is going to be on top again, at least this segment for quite some time. From what I've been hearing about the S650 chassis "look out" ;)

It's not on top now and I wouldn't compare actual cars, to things you "heard". It's a numbers game and all manufacturers are going to up the ante. I love seeing the results, I want one of everything !
