Hi,

I just got an email from Blackstone Oil Analysis. I sent them a sample of the engine oil of my Mustang. My car had 2 months/ 1,800 miles at the time. I will be doing an oil analysis every 6months to keep a record.

I have Cera-Tec in my oil.
Will they still analyze it?

If you ask for it, yes. I think its $10 for the additive test. But if you're adding ceratec everytime you change the oil, I dont think its necessary.

Looks pretty normal. Copper, iron, and moly from bearings and surfaces wearing in. High silicon from the engine sealants that they use to put these together. I suspect all the heavier metals will drop off sharply towards the averages with your next oil sample.

You are correct on that.

Did the same thing. My sample had 4,416 miles on it with 8,840 miles on the clock. I use AMSOIL 5w50 full synthetic with Motorcraft filter FL-2087 and added almost 2 quarts within that oil life. No track time. Mostly daily driven with few spirited moments mixed in. I ordered the sample through my AMSOIL dealer. Took about a week to get the results back.
