The car is currently with Lonnie and was dropped off the 18. We had a brief chat when i dropped it off and he told me he was going to ask SCT for a base file for my car. If they did not have one, he was gonna pull out the maps from the car, send it to them so that they could send him back something he could work with. Since he is close to SCT, he has quite a lot of contacts in there and it shouldn't be much longer till he gets what he needs (he could already have everything and might be dyno tuning as far as i know, he's going to call me when the car is done so i don't really know if he started anything yet). He predicted the engine tuning was going to be relatively easy but the tranny was gonna be quite hard.

That's a heck of a trip! But, seems like it will be worth it. Getting the car tuned plus seeing the sights. A little off topic but, where did you get the GT grilles? Also, is there a mustang emblem in it and it's blacked out or gone completely?

So I don't really know what I'm talking about here but are SCT the guys that create some kind of base map that other tuners like Bama use? So if you and your tuner are working with them would that perhaps open up other opportunities finally?

I thought SCT already had the tuner ready for the V6. If not then how is Unleashed tuning cars? They use the SCT X4 for the EB

Update:

Went to visit her today. SCT just got back to him with the files he needs and he dynoed her to get a baseline and she put down 261. He said she's running alright but there is still a lot left on the table. Partially due to the fact that these modern engines are extremely customizable because of the enormous amount of parameters that can be tweaked (15 different parameters for timing for one single cylinder, for example) partially because the ECU is pulling a lot of timing up top. Tuning should start today and, hopefully, the car will be relatively drivable by tomorrow (most likely not the finished product, obviously)

I thought SCT already had the tuner ready for the V6. If not then how is Unleashed tuning cars? They use the SCT X4 for the EB

My guess is that whoever tuned with them extracted the stock tune, sent it via email and he worked from there.

Haha no problem man, im doing it for myself and so that we all can see how much we can actually squeeze out of these motors while remaining safe. A dyno tune with someone that is competent in his craft is where you will actually see the full potential of the car. Canned tunes produced by big tuning companies can be nice but sadly, what might work for one car might not work for the other. From my experience, dyno tuning is the safest, most reliable and easiest way to see the car's true potential.

Update #3

Guys, sadly, Lonnie was too busy to finish a tune by today morning. I took a plane back to Florida and will be leaving the US tomorrow and won't comeback until August. My girlfriend's brother will be picking up the car whenever the tune is finished, along with some dynographs that will prove the improvements. I will update everyone whenever that happens . Meanwhile, have some pictures of the car with the new brakes on.

What else did you do to upgrade the front brakes? Did you need a bracket?

No, everything fits perfectly. The brakes came with the rotors, pads, calipers, brake lines and brake shields.

It is a gt grille that RPI designs has made. It is black mesh and there is no emblem. I have it on mine as well. Looks killer.
