Fired up cams

I made a post couple days ago abt the hissing/whistling noise coming from the engine and after taking my car to the dealership, they told me that it has a bad cam. Can anyone help me out what are some possible reasons for causing this?
Only thing I have is FRPP3, and I really cant relate this with the cam.
And I was just abt to install the headers and Lund tune. Think I should delay the time for it or would it be fine to install right on whenever the car gets fixed?

Only a guess, but maybe the dealership is suggesting the surface hardening on one of the cam lobes has gone the way of the DoDo bird, and the noise is coming from the lobe grinding itself while in rotation with the follower??

I haven't looked into it yet, but I was kind of thinking these engines have roller followers.

Not a car guy and thats really difficult to understand lol

I believe it's called a "finger follower". Insufficient lube can cause this or a defective cam.
I know on most of the early V-10s the finger followers had to be replaced with ones that had the oil port angled and somewhat larger.
There are on bearings per se, just rollers on a shaft.
Yes a defective Cam or follower needs to be replaced before more damage happens.

This sounds exactly like what mine has started doing. Sounds like it's coming from the drivers side front of the head on mine.

I ended up getting a motor replaced and got approved for the vehicle replacement. From what I experienced, only chance is the new engine.
