The fuel door is so easy to open, ever so slightly gracing the sucker causes it open. I find mine open every now and then. get highly suspicious. like is my ex around? trying to sabotage my engine?

Same here man. The first time I seen this, I was hesitant to drive the car.

Okay, it's the fob in my pocket. Thanks for the tip on the little leather case, I'll have to look into that. Yep, the only way I've opened the trunk on purpose is with that little button by the license plate. Thanks!

I am not sure if this relevant, but the other day we were out for lunch and the car told me it could not detect the key which was in my pocket. I shut the car off and restarted it and it then told me to start the car within ten minutes, with a key. We happened to be across the street from the dealer (and 30 miles from home) so I drove over to service. A tech and two advisors couldn't find anything wrong and the message did not come up again. The tech told me about the key slot under the cup holder in case the car stopped on the Interstate. Inserting the key in this slot would allow me to start and drive the car (I missed that when I read the manual).

When I got home I looked in the manual and it specifically says to keep the key away from your cell phone as it may cause interference. I had the key and my iPhone in the same jacket pocket. I now carry them in different coat pockets. No problems since then.

Just a thought, but could your cell phone and key have been in the pocket and causing the trunk to open?

Nope, I actually read that in the manual and haven't had anything other than my wallet in the same pocket.

Have you accidentally hit the release button on the left side of the dash?

This is the first thing I thought of. But really don't think I did, especially two times. But, I will be paying more attention now to see if that might be the case.

I have also noticed at times that the trunk sometimes needs to be shut a lil firmer than the doors due to the air pressure in the car, kinda like how the windows crack down a bit until the door is shut all the way to reduce cabin pressure from allowing door to close all the way. I have had to re shut the trunk a few times because it didn't close all the way even though it sounded like it did.
This was my problem-- took me a few instances of noticing the trunk wasn't closed all the way (after some rain, of course) to make sure to shut it firmly and then check it to make sure.

This is an irritating issue for me. Noticed a few times that the trunk lid is open all of the sudden. One time, just stepping into the driver seat, popped the trunk. But my biggest issue is the car alarm going off. Must happen to me half a dozen times a week, so I'm currently looking for some kind of hard shell case to put the fob in. I never use the buttons on it (Yay proximity!!!) so that is not really an issue for me. Thought about maybe fiddling around with some Kydex, but have not seen any examples yet.

Bartly what leather case did you use, and where did you get it from?

I'm the guy who started the thread and was referencing something Redcruzer suggested up above. I have no clue what a good one is. Hopefully RC can post up with a link or something?

I just got a cheap one from Amazon for like ten bucks. Somewhere on here there is a large post about key chains that has all kinds of pretty cool ones. You'll have to search for it. Anyways, here's mine with the FOB displayed out so you can see what's going on.

There's no "key slot" there (like under the door handle), but rather it's a spot in the rear cup holder where the FOB can be placed in order to start the car if it can't detect the FOB normally.
