Finally got to go autocrossing.

So I finally got to go and had a blast. I know I have alot to learn and get comfortable with my car. It surprised the he'll out of me. My last run which was my best had me bracing against the door and console. I ran 40 psi up front and 35 psi in the rear which seemed to make the car alot more balanced. It was pretty cold out so I wonder how much more grip my 265/40/20 pirellis have left in them on a hot day. Here is a video of my second run and the even pax.

Heh . . . once again, the hook has been set . . .

Running 3 - 5 psi less in the rear tires than in the fronts always seems to work well for V8 front engine RWD cars. I even run my RWD cars on the street with about the same front to rear difference (just closer to the factory recommended sticker number).

Yes it has lol. I got to ride with a man named Cory also who has 15 or 25 years experience if I remember correctly in his 2012 mustang gt. Man even on cold re's he ran a faster time than me and had me holding on for dear life lol. He had a harness and it was definitely needed lol.

I don't know alot about the classes in autox but I know I am inot the stock class and was wondering if I bought gtpp parts and put them on my car if it would still be considered stock or modifed?

Not F-Street with most anything FRPP (SCCA renamed what used to be "Stock" to "Street" a couple of years ago).

Different parts could put you in different classes depending on where there is a class allowance for making whatever mod it is.

The Konis are still F-Street legal, as is one sta-bar (your choice to replace, remove, or modify which one). The springs are not and would put you in a class that allows that additional mod - probably STP, ESP, CAM, or higher. I've been out of active autocrossing long enough to not know any more exactly where to best put it without digging into the latest rules.

No - GTPP and normal GT are both in F-Street since this is the way they come from factory. You can add packages that you car could have but you have to add _complete_ package so in case of PP - brakes, gear, wheels, torsen, gauges, suspension and so on. Pretty much cost prohibitive.

To stay in Street class you can chance shocks, put a catback, replace _one_ of the swaybars, change wheels as long as you maintain same width (this is the biggest disadvantage of non PP - you're screwed with 8 or 8.5" wide wheels) and keep offset within 7mm. Look up SCCA solo rules, it nicely summarized what's allowed and what's not.

Its difficult to turn a non-PP car into an FS-legal car with the PP parts. You need everything in the PP package to do so, you can't just take a few of the suspension parts.

Your best bet would probably be to run in STP or CAM-C depending on your mods.

Or just don't mod it (or mod it within FS allowances). If you're a beginner, it really doesn't matter but running vs. well prepared STP or CAM-C cars with just a few mods puts you at quite a disadvantage.

If your region offers a Novice class where anybody with limited or no previous experience can run regardless of what they drive, run there for a while until you either figure out where you want to go with your mod program or you start winning and get asked to run in the appropriate 'open' class. Scoring for novice class is usually PAX-based, and you can always compare your raw times against F-Street or whatever.

Well I planned on staying stock all season. I have the 20's which was stock on my car. They have 265/40/20 perilles summer tires all the way around on it. I think the only thing I really wanna do right now is get a harness and a helmet. I have corsa sport catback already and don't really want more power. I need more seat time before I change anything else. It definitely leans and dives less than my 13 gt.
