Are they purely aesthetic? Or do they serve any function? (Not that there's anything wrong with aesthetic tweaks, heh)

For me - just the cool factor. For some there are those that hate the rubbing of the belt.

I've had these pieces laying around for a while (along with everything required for a GT350 intake swap on my '15), and ran across them last weekend while on a purge of my shop. I always thought they needed something beyond boring black, and their cast-like texture begged for an aluminum look. Part of the purge was getting rid of old spray paint, so why not kill some time and see what these could really look like?

Sort of like old Cobra fender emblems as it turns out. While they didn't turn out perfect, they might inspire some of the M1 folk.

I like that idea. I did something similar but just did the lines and lettering in silver, left the rest black. Maybe I'll have to redo them!

Hi, Says on the Web page that this is 3 inch tube, but the Steeda says 2.5 inch, did you fit it to a European Mach1 without any problems?

It fit without any problem. You need to lubricate both ends with a little machine oil to get in better. For better and faster installation, detach the exhaust from the tampons. Do not remove the exhaust, just support them from below. Watch out for the valve cables.

Can you somehow fix the pads to the particular spot on the belt, or you just slide them wherever you want? From the pics on ebay it is not very clear how they are supposed to attach. I like them visually, but I am not sure, if, in use, they won't be running all over the place to end up being in a wrong spot most of the time?

You affix them manually with Velcro. Depending on how tight you make the connection, they will stay in place or you can move them easily.
