My Dealer messaged me today that the replacement shifter should be in end of the week. I will schedule a service visit once I know the parts are on hand likely next week sometime as my Oil Monitor is at 20% I will have it done in one visit. They have one Master Tech they schedule for Shelby service calls - so I will work with his availability.

Had mine done at the dealer. Dropped it off at 7:30 picked it up at noon. No drama.

Tech told me it was so the thread locker on the shifter knob could cure.

From the service instructions:

"NOTE: Notify the customer to allow the gearshift knob to set for 24 hours before any aggressive shifting."

On page 2 of 4 it states that my dealer is authorized to provide a rental car at "no charge" for my personal transportation while my vehicle is at the dealership for repairs.
I'm thinking that a GT-500 for a day would suffice....!

Hah, I tried that line. They have my GT350, the least they can do is give me something fun. The woman handling loaners gave me an awkward laugh... And gave me the keys to a Fusion. :puke:

I'll be picking mine back up first thing in the morning though!

I'm the first GT350 my dealership has done this work to and it's not my DD, so not the end of the world if they take their time.

Hey , I'll take care of the "fuel, insurance, and tax". Guarantee that it will require rear tires....

Customer Satisfaction Program? I got this letter in the mail today too. It made me sick. Ford calls it a Customer Satisfaction Program? And to show me how committed they are to my happiness as an owner, I get a "no charge" repair? Geez. Call it what it is. A manufacturer defect or recall or something owning up to the issue. Don't try to spin it so I feel thankful for Ford's generosity of fixing their screw up.

Rant over...

Got my car back, was fairly thorough in poking around. Everything seems good and normal, which is exactly as I'd expect. Took longer than I would have liked, but that's not the end of the world and the dealership was pretty good about taking care of me.

I got my letter in the mail today. Can’t bring myself to decide wether or not to do the aftermarket shifter instead of replacing the stock for stock.

I’ll think it over a little more.

It all boils down to how you are going to use your car. For me the stock shifter works great for my street driving. I have no issues with it.

You are 100% correct. I’ll probably never track my car, guess that’s my answer right there.

Im going to drive my car for a bit before I make my final decision. I only put 15 miles on it before it went to sleep for the winter

I have a feeling the stock shifter will he just fine for me too. Problem is I have this money burning a hole in my pocket lol.

Hah, if you've got money burning a hole in your pocket, I'm sure there's plenty of other uses for it -- and if you run out of ideas, I'll help ;)

But yea, I'm strictly street driving. At some point, I'll probably try autocross and then maybe work my way up to track days as I get a better feel for it, but it's gonna be a long time before I run into the limits of this car as opposed to simply my own limits as a driver. Any mods to the car at this point (for me) are pretty unnecessary.
