^^^ Try a few real hard stops (safely!) and see if they quiet back down.

I'm going to give that a try in a couple of hours. The roads near my house provide plenty of opportunity for such a procedure. I'm sure that will quiet them temporarily. Perhaps this will just be part of the norm?

My concern being, after reading through the 41+ pages of the other thread with the TSB, that Ford neglected to include GT PP in it due to the cost difference in the Brembos, and the fact that statistically less reports are coming in. I can see them holding off as long as possible before expanding the TSB.

Mine don't make a squeaky metal on metal sound but sometimes when coming to a dead stop I'll get a little something kind of like a humming sound from the front passenger side. Anyone else get this? It's only like the last few mph-0 too. Like 5mph down to 0 kinda weird but I thought brembos were known to be noisy so didn't think much of it.
Yep I have this! Seems to be when I am not driving the car hard.

I would bet the inclusion of a aluminum hat/steel rotor would quite these down... it's a resonance of the steel "singing", like a finger on a wine glass.

BJ Baldwin explains it pretty good:

Yes, but it's the same basic concept. Our pads, have a higher metallic content and are cut to grab harder. Unfortunately, this creates more noise when used lightly. These brakes are geared more towards performance than comfort.

UPDATE: I'm beginning to come to terms with the reality of living with high performance brakes.

My car is at the dealer for "disc/pad replacement," and they notified me this morning that a TSB has not been issued for the PP GTs. So.... Why did you contact me for service, I asked? I got the typical "we screwed-up response," so I have to wait until a TSB for the PP cars comes out: end of the year they said . There is an engineering notice for this issue, but no TSB yet.

I did get new exhaust manifolds tho

GT PP brakes should be silent. Mine are. If yours are not do not stop until you find the reason why.

All this about performance brakes is bs. Might apply in other applications but not here. If it were true ALL GT PP brakes would be making these noises.

Why did you get new manifolds?

The same service advisor who ordered PP brake replacement parts, said there was a TSB for the manifolds; this fix is supposed to eliminate a ticking noise.

The reason is the pad shaping and content...

Found this thread after hearing a "hum" or kinda deep "groan" sound from my front break(s). This has only happened a couple of times randomly and both times were when I was doing light breaking coming to a stop and it only lasts for a second. I assume its the noise of perf. breaks......is that the conclusion we came to?

I'm at the dealership now. I was unable to replicate the problem on my way here, 25 miles of driving. Hopefully visual inspection reveals something, even if it is just the caliper sticker. Deysha opened a case for me and this dealer was made aware in advance, so hopefully that saves time and number of visits. I will keep everyone posted.
