My driver door handle stopped working. The sensor unlock works, the interior door handle works, but I can’t open the door from the outside. The passenger side works perfectly fine.

Last night I got in my car to go get food, after coming back to the car it just stopped working.

I hate working on doors. I always end up accidentally breaking something. Do I have to take apart the whole door to see what’s going on? Has this happened to anyone else?

Update: Still not sure what caused it. Maybe a stuck door latch? But I fixed it.

Fix: Hit the door with your fist out of annoyance, right above the door handle.

Just a tip: Don't touch the area with the four lines to the right. That tells the car to lock the door. If you touch both sensors at the same time, the lock will do nothing. Unlocking is done by touching the backside surface of the handle only. In your video I see you're grabbing the door handle and putting your thumb on the lock sensor at the same time.

So I just started having the same problem, except for both passenger and driver, neither the lock or unlock work. All other interior door functions work and all key fob functions work. I also replace the batteries in the fob. I’ll also add this started after I got it back from the dealer today, they were just supposed to do an oil change. Anyone have similar issues? Oh, and the fonz method didn’t work :)

Giving the door a shot with your fist is NOT the smartest thing you can do. The metal is so thin you will wind up with small dents that will really piss you off.

Hello any updates on what caused it? This just started happening to me but only with the driver side door. Only thing I’ve done to the car before this happening was I replaced my old led sidemarkers with a new set
