Explosive Acceleration?

I had this happen in my old 93 Chevy C1500 Truck. Was driving to the Gym and the back glass just Popped with a loud POP.
Did kind a surprised me. I didn't know if someone was shooting or what.
It was a 100 degree day, so that could of had some effect.
Just weird when it happens and the why!

Out here in SoCal, triple digit weather, triple digit speed, and a 40+ degree swing in day/night temps aren't uncommon; fortunately exploding rear windows are...

Update: Dealership didn’t want to deal with it, but a quick call to Ford Customer Service resulted in full reimbursement. In contrast to the dealership, Ford didn’t challenge it at all, probably banking on customer satisfaction being worth far more than a rear window.
Windows popping under stress are rare, but they do happen

That's good to know and hear that you were taken care of and made whole. If Ford reimbursed you, they know it's problem and probably have had other documented instances of the S550 rear window shattering without cause.
