I read the GT350 has 2 piece brembo brakes up front, what are the benefits of 2 piece and are they a lot better than the 2015 GT perf package breaks?

I believe they have aluminum hats which means they are lighter. Plus they are.5" bigger in diameter.

Plus the rear are 4piston Brembos while the pp are only single piston and smaller non Brembos.

It's all about heat dissipation.

Aluminum hat, for heat dissipation. Iron rotor for durability. Six piston front, four rear means insane gripping power.

The design is a balance of heat dissipation and weight in a given diameter. Traditional rotors are one big heavy hunk of cast iron, with the diameter of these brakes a cast rotor would weigh a lot.

Brake rotors are unsprung and rotational weight, so every pound saved here is the equivalent in performance gain to several pounds taken off the body.

The only thing I've seen is from the Ford news release in early May: "Dedicated ducting assists in cooling the brakes front and rear for maximum performance."

I think the aluminum hat is more about light weight than heat dissipation. Heat conduction from the perimeter iron hoop to the inner aluminum hat will be limited.

The floating-pin design of the two-piece rotors helps improve air movement and cooling.

the floating pin design is a very interesting concept, I'm interested to see how well it holds up over time especially with aftermarket tire and brake pad compounds that will increase the braking load. I'm excited to see this cars capabilities.
