I have fuse 34 pulled to keep the exhaust in track mode. I get an error message on startup that lasts about 5 seconds and goes away.

Richard
Whaaaaaat? Thats all I have to do to keep it on track mode? Do I have to put it on track mode 1st then pull the fuse? Having to always change it everytime I turn the car on is getting old af & annoying.

Yes, put in track mode. Shutoff, pull fuse 34.

No, because I relocated the actuators to an AWE bracket and kept them plugged up to avoid the error message on the dash. I did have an error message (before relocating the actuators) at one point though and I had to fix the passenger side harness because it rubbed on the pinch weld and shorted out.

That’s correct.:Keeping the actuators plugged up just tricks the ECU happy, so that no codes are thrown. I now have a Steeda axle back with straight through mufflers.

I kinda like the active I don’t use it at all tbh I just leave it in track but it’s nice when other people who are not car enthusiasts or don’t like loud car to have it sound like a Camry lol.

I dont care too much for the active exhaust, it came with the car, I didnt option it out myself, just picked it up off the lot. My last 5.0 was catless with Kooks full exhaust & I loved the cold starts & the sound it had at all times. Kooks is out of the question nowadays, they were expensive already 4 years ago, now with what it would cost from headers to tips I can almost buy the ESS kit. I have a Steeda h pipe Im about to install for now. Ill pull the fuse then.

Active exhaust was one of the features I absolutely need. Its just sick going from being super quite to decently loud just in a few clicks. Aftermarket seem to be more expensive due to it but I think its worth it at the end. I never drive it in quite never have and never prob will, but its nice to have since I do drive a night sometimes at like 2am and I don't wanna piss everyone off everyday.

Yeah guess it might come in handy. In my small town there are a lot of loud exhaust & you can hear them blocks away. One of the times I was driving at night I crossed a cop. A few blocks away I got in a little off ramp section & let the car rip. Once back on the main street I kept driving normal as usual. Once I turned up the block I looked in my rear view mirror & sure enough, that same cop was hauling ass trying to catch up to me. Luckily he was pretty far away & a few quick turns down a few streets & alleys with the lights off kept me from getting caught up. Active exhaust would of came in handy then.

haha I bet you were shaking as you got out the car I remember avoiding and evading cops in my civic cuz it was obnoxiously loud lol, lucky I haven't got a full stop from a cop for my exhaust but there was this one time where I was on a street with a bunch of building and I downshifted into first and it was decently loud since it just echo and sounds really mf good by objects and their was a tow truck in front of me I think for a repo and the cop parks behind me and apparently he was just chillingly like a light and I guess i didn't see him, cuz he came out of nowhere, but while he was moving to the scene on foot, he goes up to my window and was like "its too loud bud" and moves on I just yell its stock, since x pipes are legal in AL. Then another two other cops show up and one of them was like give it a lil rev, and I later found out that the cop that said to rev it, he owns a GTCS! Idk I guess that cops didn't like v8s or sum lol.

Streeting racing is fun… regardless of what car it is. It’s fun just seeing what cars people drive and how much they push!

Yes it is. Ive always loved it. Im just too old to hang out with the majority of the racers in my town lol. Funny thing is, the oldest guys around my age are the ones with the stupid fast cars in my area, but they only pull them out for the track which is 4 hrs away & for a small event they have twice a year at the airport.
