Would it hurt if I asked my dealer what date they put the order in their system? Haven't seen anyone mention it?
This shows my order date compared to dealers order date  Contract date vs Order date ?????

Hey OZDAZ5.0 thats 2 months from when you ordered till ford put it in. I know when I placed my order the dealer I went through was very adamant that the order had to be in on a deadline or it would be missed till next available slots. Perhaps that was the case with yours, even still its 2 months extra clocked onto the already long wait from your initial order date. Touch wood all will move quickly for yours ASAP and you will make the next boat. Happy days ahead :)

Sturty91 wouldn't hurt to ask them at all. when I did the dealer provided a printout of the information they had. The Page had NSC, Dealer order, Vin, Order date, sido etc. was a handy little piece of info to have.

Ok so yours should be in the country roughly the 15th October to the Docks in Perth. Mine was a eta of the 20th August, I thought that was to the dealer but it turned out to be eta 20th to port Kembla NSW.
So at rough guess by looking at the shipping Schedules your car should be on the Tiger (voyage No:CF627-TIG IMO No: 9505039 Call sign: 9HA2271) departing Baltimore on the 5th Sep 16 and arriving at Fremantle WA 14th October 16, lol if im reading this correctly.

All I can think of is each dealer gets an allocated amount of Mustangs so if like me you wonder into a very big Ford Dealership and order you may have to wait until the next available car the dealer has been allocated (mine two months down the list). Some may have gone to smaller yards and literally got an allocation straight away hence the 12 month wait group??

My dealer did say he would have the car 15th of October but I think your more accurate and it may only just be in port then... thats nearly 16 months from order to getting the car :frusty::frusty::frusty: some have received cars in 10 months so yup....that shits me...

And Id love to "HOPE" I get on the Tysla.....

I do understand what your are saying there Darryn, Mine was a smaller dealer so I think you are right with the allocation numbers depending on dealer location. 16 months is a dam long time so I bet it would be shitting you big time. I'm sure it will be well and truly worth the wait though. Eager as all hell to get mine thats for sure. Lol I have gone as far as respray my fg (due to a couple of roos and a couple of fix ups, then possibly sell it) to take my mind of the wait. Its been dam hard to do. Hopefully all will move quickly though and you will get your car sooner.
I have never waited for a car this long before and its murder for sure with the wait.

I'll be glad when we're all talking about our ponys and not about getting them here!!
Seeing how Ford has had so much time to get this sorted so that the export flow should now be so much faster, I HOPED Tamerlane, expected Tysla, thought it has to be Tiger, will be UNHAPPY with Talisman!!!
Sooo Deysha tells me today that my pony built back on the 20th July was released last Wednesday but hasn't been moved to dispatch yet, but shouild be in the next few days!!!!! Check back again next week:frusty:
What the???
I'll be LUCKY if it's ONLY 16 months!!
Sorry ranting again, this wait is FUN:doh:

I know I'm only new to this but what if you can't get a four digits order code from your dealer?

Are they telling you they don't have one yet?
If so, I believe you may just have to wait until one is available. I'm not sure how long it takes from order before they can supply one. I only asked my dealer last month (Ordered August 2015) and he gave it to me and then Ford Aus provided me with the VIN. The dealer actually provided me with the VIN the day after.

The salesman is telling me that he's never seen an order number for any Mustang. He said maybe the manager did but he's never seen one or seen it on the Ford system.

Tell the salesman its called either the NSC or SIDO number
If he doesnt know, you would hope someone at the dealership would know how the order system for ford works.

Luckily I have a nice VF Redline to cruise around in in the meantime. Not the Stang but hey it's no 1996 Magna or Camry.

Stock Controller would be the person the salesman will need to go too.

Remember those movies where there is some poor bloke in the desert and then he sees a "mirage", water just over there!!. He runs to it but it is not there, in fact further away in the distance, so he keeps running in hope.

Well I am one of those poor buggers in my sand pit with other lost souls, the Mustang is just over there, look. But no it is way in the distance. But still we run!!!
Arr the joys of the "wait"
