Does anyone make equal length headers like this for the GT?

I think BBK has some shorty's coming out. AM has them up for preorder for $650. They don't seem to be exactly stock length, not sure what the missing is there.

equal length means the primaries are the same length for each cylinder. not equal to the stock headers and definitely not shorties (which don't do anything).

It's about exhaust pulse phasing. When you have equal length, the exhaust pulse travel equal distance instead of some arrive first some arrive later. It gives you a better exhaust note.

Gotcha! Duh, seems so obvious now in regards to "equal length." My mistake, thanks for the info!

Has anybody actually measured each tube on their longtubes? They have to be pretty close I would think.

I believe most LT's are, or are at least somewhat close to being equal length. This can be seen when looking at the primaries that are closer to the collector having extra contortions (length) instead of taking a direct path down to the collectors like the forward most primary tubes. Remember available space also dictates this.

having an h or x pipe helps scavenge the exhaust out of the tubes equal length or not.

It all works in tandem for scavenging.

As one pulse shoots down the pipe it creates a vacuum behind it that pulls exhaust from the next cylinder, each bank relies on itself for the majority of the scavenging. Once they leave the headers and move into a single pipe on each side they continue to pull on the air behind them. Then they enter the X/H pipe, at this point the gas has gone through the cats if you have them and slowed/cooled. To try and keep the heat and flow going they mix the 2 banks exhaust and this assists the pulses as they travel the entire length of the exhaust by keeping both pipes warmer and aids in more even heat injection.

For the above this is why simply putting a huge pipe all the way back is bad since it doesn't usher the gasses out quickly.
