Hello; I am about 40 miles from Morristown and have a friend in the Greenville area. Hope you find TN to your liking. I live near Harrogate TN just about five miles from the KY border at Middlesboro KY. Perhaps you have driven thru the stupid tunnel thru the mountain at the Cumberland Gap National Park. If so, you will have passed within a few miles on my place. I can see part of the LMU campus rom my home.

i went with progressive w/same benefits and am saving about 200$ a month. 2 cars and 1 classic truck. I lived in San Antonio in 2017 or 16 when there was that real bad hail storm hit..my rates went up after that and never went down... even after i moved to Tn. I understand how it works but still... its just not same company.

I’ve heard this from everyone. One of my employees has gone 6 months without a kitchen because they’re dragging their feet (Condo issue).
However, on the auto side they’ve continued to be great for me. I just recently got hit by another USAA driver and I anticipated problems. Nope, 100% liability to other party within hours and waived deductible. They categorized the car as a collector item and repaired it rather than total it out. I then sold it for $2k under what I paid for it after a $15k repair and 3 years of ownership.
I think its because I have no-fault insurance I get better service. That’s the only explanation I can come up with.

i never had issues w/accidents. It was always customer service and them adding fees on any and everything.

My dad moved to San Antonio to work for USAA when they were just starting to go big time. They were one of the best ins. companies at one time, but no more. I will definitely check with progressive, damn that's a huge difference. I need to shop my home owners ins. as well. Thanks for the tip.

2 years ago my wife was driving down a dark country road when a vehicle and a logging truck hit each other traveling in opposite direction. She was about a minute behind the accident and when she came around curve (55 MPH road) both vehicles were already in the ditch but a tractor tire and a battery was on the roadway which she ran over causing $5K in undercarriage damage including a punctured trans pan. Even though she only hit an object in the road it was covered by our insurance.
Was that covered by collision or comprehensive?

O LIE, I remember those days, bad place to drive.

Yea NY is a great state, LOL... sold my house this week, moving to TN in 18 months.
Welcome to Tennessee (when you get here). Just be sure to leave the liberal politics there. We like our low taxes and relative freedom. ;-)

For sure, I live closer to Canada than NYC. We are the only NY area which sits with what you like.

I agree, there is likely nothing wrong with that engine if there was an oil slick under the car AFTER it was shut down. The shop has not inspected the engine to verify any damage, they just want to make some money on parts and labor. Just get a new pan, fresh oil, and confidently drive the crap out of it for 100,000 plus thousand miles.

i unfortunately went through this same thing a few weeks ago. Someone was kind enough to leave their trailer hitch in the highway. I hit it and it put a hole in the oil pan. I pulled over and had it towed to local dealer. Most of the oil was on the side of the road by the time the tow truck driver arrived. Dealership installed new oil pan and oil. I drove it a few hundred miles before changing the oil back to Penzoil Platinum which is what i have been running and so far everything is ok. no ticking or using any oil.
