I just sold my Whipple car because I want an A10 and the mt82 is geared too hot with that PD torque. The Whipple weighs a lot for sure but I never had any issues with heat soak. I could make repeated pulls and never once did I get hot enough to pull timing. Granted I only had 11psi too. I...
In the summer I'm +20ish on the highway at 70+, +30 in town. It will climb higher if I sit idle for extended time but come down quickly once I get moving. In the winter I've been as low as +7 on the highway and +18-20 in town.
I have the standard heat exhchanger with an RTR grille which feeds...
The post wasn't to show his gain going to E85 and custom vs a whipple tune on 91. It was to show that if you short shift you stand to lose upwards of 50+ avg hp down the track even though the peak number wouldn't change much. Whipples love rpm and most don't take advantage of it. Which is...
Both Mike's and my car both are street trim but lightened flywheel, driveshaft, Mike stock axles, Baer Eradispeed rotors for PP car, light 19" street wheels 50 front, 52 rear. His car has 3.73 and at 60mph he's at peak tq in 3rd 615 ft lbs and runs through trap at 130 at peak hp. He was...
What's the car weigh with drag pack and interior removed? What's it weigh in street trim?
How much power? Better yet a dyno graph to plot gearing and match it to speed and rpm and see how much avg power it's putting down between it's widest gear split. In your videos it's shifting at...
No mechanical gauge. I don't get what's so hard to believe. He runs 6.1 with what roush and vmp claim as an 8psi pulley and you claim 4.8 on 12psi. There's no fluff here, he posted his weight, dyno sheet, dragy slips, the tune has 23 degrees, DA was great on his runs, the tires are 305...
I ordered 2 kits, one for me and a buddy back in November. I still haven't received them. I've gone back and forth for months and last week asked for a refund. I was promised a tracking number by Monday this week and of course nothing. If I don't get a refund I'm filing a dispute.
AED won't tune an 18+ on pump gas 91 because of constant knock. He recently dynoed one with whipple tune on 91 and it only made 648/543 because of knock. He tuned it on E85 and it made 834/630 on the 3.875 Pulley
My buddy has the Roush Phase 1 with JLT intake, VMP twin 67 throttle body, Corsa headers and Corsa sport exhaust. AED tuned it made 665/550 on 91 and 750/620 on E85. On the dragy it ran 6.15-6.20 60-130 times
I have a 3.87 pulley, 22 degrees timing, ARH headers, corsa sport 3". I do have every rotating part lightened up though. Aluminum flywheel, driveshaft, heavy g force axles, Baer eradispeed rotors and 50lb street wheels and tires. I made the same torque as you at 612, made 804 rwhp SAE at 7650...
The dyno numbers do look low. Try to get a dragy 60-130 or 1/4 mile pass and see how it performs. How much timing is in the tune?
My buddy was on the opposite side, everyone said his dyno numbers were high at 750 SAE with Roush blower 85mm pulley, Corsa headers and cat back, twin 67tb, jlt...
That sounds really low. What tire size are you running? I'm about 1850 at 70mph trans ratio x rear gear ratio x mph x 336/ tire size. .65 x 3.31 x 336 x 70/ 27.5 = 1840 for me
60 mph is a little bit of a dead spot for me currently. 6000 in 2nd or 4000ish in 3rd. I'm going with a stage 3 calimer and the gear ratios will be like making it around a 3.12 rear gear equivalent. I'll be around 5600 at 60 in 2nd and it will take a slight touch of sting out of it...
There's a lot of variables to sift through in choosing gearing for roll racing. The start and end speed, trans gear, and your powerband are important. I have a Whipple with 3.31. Peak torque is at 5000, I shift at 8000. 50 roll in 2nd = I start at peak torque, and I'm good to 150mph at the...
