I wouldn't worry that much. What you lose in raw handling capability you make up in v8 noises and power.
IMHO, it really depends on what you want. They are really two completely different cars ironically, in the same body. If you gravitate towards sports cars in the traditional sense EB HPP all the way. If you gravitate towards old school muscle cars then the GT.

Market is far bigger and includes the entire female population that may be turned off by heavy feeling and loud GTs.

I would give the benefit of the doubt that @Hanavarian wasn't insinuating there are no women-driven coyotes as I know quite a few myself. In the context of the discussion, it is a fact however, the ecoboost does cast a far bigger net in terms of the target buying audience.

On topic: The market looks like it's starting to swing in the opposite direction so yeah it hurts to lose valuation from a 1 year old purchase but isn't the saying that a car loses half it's value the moment you drive it off the lot?

I don't actually think the offer they given is bad looking at the car in itself and not the age; it's a manual, ecoboost with a handling package. A lot of the extras that come in the HPP model are only things that matter to enthusiasts which most people are not so the dealer doesn't want to pony up extra for a car they may have trouble moving.

I'm not so sure about this. Yes the EB has a lighter nose and changes direction with a bit more ease, however, hitting peak power at 5500rpm and losing 60hp after that to redline does not exactly make you feel like you're driving a sports car. Before I swapped to my coyote I would always shift at 5500-6k because it fell on its face so hard. Even with an upgraded turbo.

Also with firmer suspension the weight difference over the nose was not that noticeable. Even the EB's are undersprung form the factory so the GT's I'm sure feel quite a bit worse. But at least for me on coilovers I was very surprised how minimal the change in balance and handling was going from EB to coyote. I bought the EB originally intentionally for the improved balance and handling and turned out at least for me that what it lacks in freight train pull it does not sufficiently make up for in handling. Probably because even with the little 4cyl its still a 3600lbs car.

Only downside I've found is with the super long gears in the MT82-D4 it feels like a superbike where the gears are so long its not fun below 100mph. Definitely not a problem I had with the EB. But an A10 GT I'm sure is still a lot of fun around town.

they are an agent of the commercial used car brokers. When was that deal made? Prices in the dealer market have crashed significantly.
Since when? I got a stupid offer on my wife's 2014 vehicle about 3 weeks ago. Since then they have crashed or ?? .... the offer was duplicated between Carvana and Vroom within $100 difference.

I’ll say this….If someone can ever combine the power and torque of a V8 without the weight we’d have a winner. Unfortunately both the V8’s weight and the E/V with it’s heavy batteries are not likely contenders to ever handle as well as an EB PP for instance. Still fun though!!

So, it looks like I will be ordering a 22 GT premium, black appearance pkg, manual in Iconic silver from Chapman Ford. I get to drive my mustang until it arrives. What ever the EcoBoost is worth at that time I will deal with it then. I want to thank all of you for your advice and observations, you guys are the best. The money I lose in the transaction is just less money I leave to my kids. Lol.

I suppose that's fair. Although it's not like you can't mod the GT to be just as spry. The nose is only a little heavier.

I have so much fun with my MT82-D4 running around town. If I want gas mileage, I’ll row through some gears. If I want a ticket, then I run it up to 45 in first and go from there. In my version of “around town fun mode” I hardly even use second. There’s so much joy in the tires barely having enough traction in the middle of the RPM range and it’s even better sliding around tight corners. I don’t know if I’m doing it wrong or if everyone else is. Either way, I seem to be having a better time than most.

If you’re having fun you’re doing it right! I just enjoy rowing through the gears and hopefully doing so before 120mph.
