I know there's nothing new about this, but I feel like sharing my upgrade route and prices vs a GT and see your guys thoughts. Please keep the civil war at bay, this merely a path to enjoying my car.
I broke down a list of what I have and paid for to compare cost to performance.
Base Eco:24,995
Mbrp:480 (deal)
Levels IC: 540
Map Cai: 260
Atp Dp clone: 235
Cobb w/ Tune+:685
TS BOV: 235
RTR Tech 7's with Pirelli: 1,780
Vibrant Res: 90
(Did every single install, no labor costs)
29280 so far. The next two upgrades are VTT twin scroll and UPR CC for 2300 so that's 31580. Now that would get me much faster than a GT, much. Also in my area best deal on a used GT is 31k with 13,000 miles. Id have to go full bolt on tuned to compete (correct me if I'm mistaken please, I don't have every answer lol) now idk how much going full bolt plus a tune would add to that price but I'm sure id be in it a lot deeper.
I enjoy both, of course everyone wants that classic V8 big balls sound but I'm also being practical. I travel from WA to CA and I love the gas mileage this ca offers even with the Vargas upgrade. I don't mind the sound enough to wanna pay more sticker and gas. If one day I hit 11,s 1/4 mile I'll be super happy.
Anyways I'm curious on everyone's own opinion on the matter!
