I am not a DYI person, but with the help of a friend, I did delete the resonator and we fabricate a Y pipe, and the increase in sound was very noticeable. It is not like the ones that cost an arm and a leg, but total cost (material and his labor, even thou he is my friend), was a $170. I am very happy with it and I also remove the recirculation tube to hear the turboo better..and besides the savings, I feel like it sounds muuuch better....and on a budget.

Things are so much more reasonably priced when you go the custom route.

I thought about doing this as well. Y pipe and two thrush welded mufflers with tips all for I think $150 shipped. But I'm gonna stay with the stock set up. I don't need the car to be overly loud. And there's not much to gain performance wise.

my initial plan was to do a single 3" oval muffler (where the resonator was) into a Flowmaster Y (super smooth merge/split) then into dual pipes out the back with whatever 4" tips or a couple turndowns. The flowmaster Y is spendy but the quality of the Y makes a Massive difference in sound and flow.

I have this set up exactly now, with a catted downpipe

Does your friend own or work at a muffler shop? I am trying to get this done on mine.

You guys with just a res delete, are you getting a lot (or any) drone? Thought about doing this but I've heard it makes stuff raspy and drone.

Mine didn't drone, but it was raspy. A Vibrant bottle resonator cured that right up!

I don't notice a drone. I do love the sounds the car makes though!

I finally found someone to build me a custom y and delete the resonator and I have no drone either. The only difference I can really tell is I can feel the motor through the throttle now and throttle response feels quicker.

Yea I have the same thing and I don't like it at all, I can feel the vibrations in the top of 5th and 6th gear
