Members....looking for some help in determining what's the better option,

a new 2016 EB premium (non 201a package-no adaptive criuise, 12 speaker system) or......

A new 2016 EB base with PP package?

I assume, i can upgrade to the PP package at some point but it would be more difficult in getting the premium options in a base?

Thanks in advance,

Paul M

I can tell you hands down from personal experience if you can afford the PP, Premium package & Performance package buy it. You will not have buyers remorse.

I don't think the difference in the PP on EB is as dramatic as the GT.
For DD you will not know the difference. For me I prefer premium package.

I have both the premium and performance, Fantastic.
If I had to pick only 1............
The PP brakes, suspension, gearing, and radiator are great, can't beat it for the money.
Some have said that the PP suspension is too firm for them.
If you are looking for performance and plan on modding, get the PP.
If you just want a comfortable daily driver and don't plan to mod, go with just the premium.
Can't go wrong with either, just depends on what you are looking for.

And, as you said, you could upgrade to PP specs, would cost thousands.
Upgrading to premium would be a bit nuts with the electronics involved.

get the PP for the 3.55 gears and center gauges. Although I think it comes with summer tires that may need to be swapped right away, at least for those that live up north. And PP tire size may be more expensive than the base 18x8. Another approach is to get base EB and install aftermarket 4.11 gears. US gear just came out with 4.11.

If you have to choose, go premium. It would be impossible to upgrade later to premium if you still want the use of your arms and legs. :D

I assume that the need to choose is being driven by available 2016 stock.

I have the Premium with Performance Package on my DD but if I could only have ONE package only I would have to choose the Premium.

Not having the interior upgrades (Leather/Larger Screen/ Toggle switches) would
bother me more than not having the PP add-ons.

Thanks all. I appreciate your input very much here.

I would have to agree that the base interior, as a DD would bother me as well. I pay too much to attention to details. I just love those aluminum toggle switches..

With that said, I am off to call the dealer and make a deal on a 2016 EB in magnetic metalic....wish me luck!!!!

Actually you can get many of the premium features with an afternoon of work. I did as much on my PP GT.

Custom leather Katzkin covers run about $700 (with many more options) and a tomtop touchscreen with Navigation is under $300.

Thanks, something to think about. I just love the Rawlings seats...so cool. Wonder if they smell like my mitt from back in the day...

I believe the performance parts are easier to add aftermarket than the premium parts.

And MANY people change out half of the upgrade parts from the Performance Package anyway. (like wheels, tires, suspension parts, possibly gears).

Though +1 for the get both so you won't have buyers remorse.

I got a loaded 2014 GT Premium, and added some of the performance parts.
This time around I just got a 2017 GT Premium PP with Leather Recaros and the car is nearly perfect from the start!

It can go either way, really. You can add the PP stuff to a premium and you can add some of the premium stuff to a base.
Do a side by side comparison at the dealer if you can. It really comes down to what's more important to you if you can't get a premium PP.

It's going to be expensive either way you go if you want to add the features of the package you didn't get.

I have a 201a non-PP. It's my daily driver and I personally find I prefer the extra comfort features. Dual zone automatic climate control and heated/cooled seats FTW.
