I removed them and the motor on my 2016 EB Premium. Throws a code with an OBD Scanner but no CEL.

depends on the car. my 17 premium didn't come with it. my car had a "block heater" option, which eliminates grille shutters. all I did was unplug it, lol.

in future if I ever order a factory car, im ordering that option, because they don't install grille shutters with it.

@FreePenguin if your car didn't have them what was unplugged? the block heater?
I plan on installing a renegade grill sometime next month when it's warmer and I also have a intercooler to install and I was wondering about the shutters.

my car had a little weird dongle, (heater block cord) you plug in, hanging out bottom of my grille, see it hanging there in bottom. I simply disconnected that from the car. no shutters was on this car due to that, it must "be int he way of shutter" operation. so its nulled from factory, no codes, no nothing. it must be coded out of my tune as well, both stock and ford perf, because ive had no codes regarding shutter girl not being there or operational.-- makes me wonder if there's a forscan code for it actually on and off.

in long run, its a $100 dollar option, but imo. I will order that heater plug option, just to eliminate the damn shutters. worth it.
