At high speeds, closing them diverts air around the car differently creating downforce and stabilizes pockets of air around the front tire well. More aero and handling at speed.
Why do you think the performance pack didn’t get them?

I believe that all non PP GT from 2018 and up get the shutters. The PP cars have a HD radiator for added cooling at hard use. Like I stated before, i have never seen these in the closed position or noticed any different driving effects at high speed or cold weather start ups.

I think they added them for the non-PP 18-19s. I'm surprised you hadn't tried ripping them out yet. I'm doing it as soon as I have a reason to remove the front bumper. To me it's not worth the hassle just for them.
I would have ripped them out immediately IF I had known about them but this is the first time I've ever heard about this device, lol. Strange, I know, being that I've been on this forum for years, but yeah, just never heard of it.

The HD radiator needed more air flow?
EB PP comes with a bigger rad than the stock EB, I don't know how it compares to GT rads.
