I just ordered a 2016 V6 Convertible. I've had 5 GT's over the years and think the 3.7 @ 300Hp will be fine for a DD. The Eco Boost is too new for me.

I hope the OP gets things worked out.

The problem is most people haven't actually taken the time to fully read the law and understand it. I was guilty of that myself. It's fun to mod cars and it's easy to get caught up in going too far. All it takes is for one bad incident though to make you regret it. I hope everyone that is reading this and modding their cars is putting a little more thought into the consequences than they did before.
any updates? What was the outcome. My engine went bad as well, a V6. I had CAI and Exhaust and I got a Long Block under warranty. They are still fixing it but it is all getting paid by Ford and they gave me a rental after 30 some days.

In my case, they listened to engine and determined cylinder 5 was knocking. Short block was ordered then they realized there is metal through the engine and ordered a long block.

Hope you can get your engine rebuilt or get another engine from a demolished one if nothing has been done.

The dealership is still waiting on a hose and a fuel pump. Both items are on backorder with no ETA. The customer service rep for my area says they have 3 total customers in the area waiting on these same parts. Not sure he meant to tell me that but it kind of confirms that in my area alone there is currently 3 blown ecoboost 2.3L motors. I wonder what the total world wide is...

I also am waiting for bunch of parts and hoses etc.

Is your work covered under warranty? Or are you paying from your pocket?

I'm paying out of pocket, they voided my warranty. When I asked the customer service guy I'm dealing with if it mattered that it wasn't a warranty thing he told me of the others waiting.

but you have 10 k miles and 1 start stop cycle? Well that stretches credibility
No seriously, I was traumatized by a failed starter years ago and since then I let my car idle all night, while I'm at work and all other times I'm not driving it.

That's just fucking amazing to know. God having a ecoboost is making me worry so much right now.

I could of had the engine rebuilt for $2000 less than going through this process with the dealership by one of the top companies in the area. They have little faith in the motor though and the odds of having issues again are high. That is why I found it best to pay the dealership to do it and get my full 5yr/60K mile warranty reinstated. If I was to go with the rebuild the block would be warrantied for 3yr unlimited miles but that only covers the cost of the block, nothing else and no labor.

Dont get freaked out. A hose and fuel pump can go on all Mustangs. Needing a fuel pump doesnt mean it's close to the same issue and is unrelated to a engine block being damaged. It could be to repair 50 different issues. It does not by any stretch mean there are 3 blow Eco motors in that area

About 50% of Mustang sales are Ecoboosts, meaning about 5,000 per month. Selling 70-80k of them already you would hear if there was a real mass engine issue.

You could very well be correct. Haven't heard of anyone having issues with fuel pumps though.

That's because they "read" someone had issue there all have issue's because it's internet. When in real world it's 1 out of 20,000 had issue this is example

I too also want a total of how many ecoboost engines had to be replaced in the first 20k miles of owning these cars. I can watch my boost gauge go up to 5 then quickly goto 0 while the rpms are building.. when it should be boosting up to 18

I am going the same route as you. Doesn't make sense to get it cheaper and have no warranty.

For sure. If the parts don't come in soon I may just have the car towed and park it in the garage until spring. It's costing me money having full coverage insurance on it while it sits at the dealership. Towing also costs money though so not quite ready to make a move. I wish they could give an ETA on the parts.

I'm just gonna leave mine at the dealer until they get it done. I'm not going to pay to have it towed back and forth. I know one thing I will be leaving the car stock for atleast 10,000 miles to see if it happens again.
