I recently purchased a 2023 Ecoboost Premium Convertible with 6MT. After about 1200 miles I have decided it's time to start upgrading for improved street (East TN mountain roads) performance. No track time.
My upgrade plan is:
Thanks
My upgrade plan is:
- New wheels/summer tires (Steeda Trident 19x10 square and Continental ExtremeContact Sport 285/35 r19 tires). The tires were delivered last week and the wheels were delivered today and they will be mounted tomorrow at Discount Tire. I plan to keep the factory 20x9 wheels with mediocre Goodyear A/S tires to use as 'winter' tires.
- Upgraded brakes - I am planning to go with Brembo 6 piston calipers up front. I have talked to Steeda and they are recommending Hawk drilled/slotted rotors front/rear (380mm front, 320 mm rear) and Stoptech pads. They say there is no need to replace the factory rear calipers/pads.
- Suspension - Mostly I would like to reduce the front dive and body roll (both are pretty bad with the stock base convertible suspension). I wouldn't mind dropping the car a little, but I don't want to get into fender rubbing issues. I have already ordered the Ford Performance strut tower brace which should be delivered this week and I plan to install it this weekend. From the description it sounds like the Ford Performance Street Handling Pack https://www.levittownfordparts.com/sku/m-fr3a-maa.html would accomplish my goals?
- Eventually I _might_ do a CAI and mild tune. However I suspect the current/base performance will be good enough for carving the country roads around here so that's why this is last on the list.
Thanks
