Hello forum family.
I owe and drive a 2017, 2.3l s550, this is also my daily driver. I’ve done a few mods to it of course, such as; intercooler, cai, performance coil packs and exhaust. I’ve also purchased a SCT s4 tuner with lifetime tune from Bama.
Back in last year November, I blew my engine, literally. The ting goes boom, eco-boom, leaving a big hole in the engine block. I had warranty so ford replaced the engine. This all happened before I even added the exhaust mod. Anyways, fast forward to when i got back my car from ford, it drive perfectly fine, so I dropped back in my aftermarket coil packs, start feeling the rough idling again. Fine, I took them out, reinstalled the stock, car runs good no problems. I had the aftermarket coil packs replaced, then when I received them, I loaded back my custom tuner back onto my car, it runs fine. Well at least so I thought.
I’ve come to realize that once I reached 120mph in sport mode, the engine check light comes on, engine lose power.
This problem will go away once I back off 120 and drive normal. This happens in the 4th grade while driving sport mode. If I catches 4th and rev to 4.5k rpm then catch 5th, I don’t experience this misfire.
Also, when I drive in normal mode, I do no experience this issue. The car just limit me at 125-130mph thou I have a tuner on it that should’ve removed the speed limiter.
I’m thinking to just sell this crap sct s4 turner or toss it and get myself a Cobb.
Cause I think I’m on the verge of eco-boom again!!
What do you guys think could be the culprit? The programs I have on the car or manifold issue?
im seeking some answers please
