Premium MT EB vs PP MT GT, the GT Clutch felt much better I was curious why mine didn't feel as good  lol
Pull the helper spring off your clutch pedal then check the feel..

Does anyone know if their is a difference between the base manual transmission and performance package? Maybe a different clutch? I was driving a friends PP GT and the clutch in the GT felt much more responsive:shrug:
GT has a different clutch altogether than the EB

Whats funny is the number of failures of the 2.0T in the ATS.

Some poor idiot moderator on that site linked this thread as

No, they are having serious problems, to the point that someone felt it would be easier to post the ones that didn't blow rather than ones that did. Certainly not really the case, but it shows the frustration.
Shows he didn't even bother to read what the thread is about, we have like what 6 or 7 down?

They are up to 29!

In another thread I think EcoSwag listed 12 forum members with failures, not including the rumored ones at dealers.

As for the GM 2.0T, if you think it's bad now, just wait. That motor is now being put in the 2016 Camaro so they'll be way more common and beaten on way more than a standard ATS will be. It'll be interesting to see how they do. I've currently been driving this 2.0T Camaro for about a week now (on loan from GM) and the power doesn't even hit till 3k, so it's more tuned like a traditional turbo car with less power down low (much like the aftermarket EB tunes). So I had assumed GM's motor would have better longevity stock, but clearly with the ATS that isn't the case.

Maybe its a temporary tune to keep em from going boom. Once they figure the issue out it may get its power back down low?

Also, that engine came in the solstice's way back when, and I don't remember too many of those blowing up? Anybody else?

If GM uses a single scroll Turbo that will create Turbo lag so it may not be a tuning issue but a limitation of the design. Our Hyundai 2.0T is a blast to drive because of the Turbo surge at higher RPM. The Mustang uses a twin scroll Turbo that reduces Turbo lag so you don't get the Turbo surge which actually kind of sucks to be honest. One of the things that I was disappointed in when I test drove the Mustang was the feeling that I was not driving a Turbo. Any who, maybe I have it all wrong but that is my understanding of traditional Turbo (single scroll) vs. boring Turbo (twin scroll).

3k miles since August 2015 (Build date of 1-05-2015), Valencia Engine build with no problems. Only modification is a drop in K&N air filter.

11,500mi since February 2015. I DD to work. I've done 150 mph on my way to Las Vegas. I haven't tuned yet... However, I'm looking into it! I have MagnaFlow Comp, Mishimoto CAI. Installing CP-E Cold Charge Pipe with HKS BOV this weekend :D and incoming CP-E FMIC.

I have a heavy foot, so though my commute is only 6 mi roundtrip to work, I scurry around traffic. I just keep loving the car!! :)

I know someone who worked at GM (Opel) There are significant differences between the ATS and Camaro Engine, GM released a tune for the ATSs that significantly reduced the failures by limiting boost at lower RPM using the wastegate and throttle butterfly.

I think the Camaro's tuning and upgraded pistons, rings and pcv system from the later ATS will mean a relatively stout motor. Only time will tell, (just like the EB) once it gets into people's hands and they start doing 6th gear pulls on a hot day with 87 octane in the tank.

Edit: Just to be clear I hope it is stout not weak, The Turbo 4 will be vital to keeping the Camaro in production and Ford needs the Camaro to keep the Mustang from stagnating.

I am at 46,300 miles on my eco. Bought it October 2014. Had Livernois tune since 30,000. Magnaflow street catback, JLT CAI, cold plugs. Mishimoto IC, piping and catch can on order. No problems whatsoever. Runs great. Use royal purple oil and filter.

I have full bolt-on. Switch from BAMA to Unleashed to Tune+. Drive my car like I stole if most of the time. No boom.

Your understanding is correct but I looked it up just to double check and the Camaro does in fact use a twin-scroll turbo too. I thought it did which is why I was surprised at the lag. I felt like I was driving a pre-2015 WRX, power delivery was exactly the same. Must be the tune.

And only 3k miles since August??
